Once Upon a Rug…
Long ago, in a little town in India, individuals came together with soft wool, silky strands, and a lot of love. They used their own hands to create rugs — not any rugs, but works of art. The rugs had designs, hues, and stories. Every knot was knotted with love. Every color was chosen with happiness.
And did you know? This stunning art continues to thrive today — in the form of us here at Tuftora!
Who Are We?
We are Tuftora — a family of artists, dreamers, weavers, and creators.
We don't just create rugs. We weave magic with threads.
Our rugs are made by hand. That's right, actual human beings with their own hands make them, not machines. We work with wool, silk, cotton, and other soft fibers to create rugs that feel nice and look great.
You can walk on them, sit upon them, lie on them, or just stand there and smile.

How Do We Create Our Rugs?
Let us share a secret — each rug begins with a dream.
Then there is the:
Design – We pencil, color, and computer. We make shapes, flowers, waves, and sometimes even small stories within the rug.
Choice of Material – We choose soft, sturdy yarns such as wool, cotton, jute, or silk.
Dyeing – We dye the threads. Blues, reds, golds, greens – so many colors!
Weaving – This is the exciting part. We use hands, looms, and implements. This can take days, weeks, or even months.
Washing – We wash the rug gently to make it soft and shiny.
Finishing – We trim off the excess threads and check that the rug is just right.
Packing & Shipping – Then we roll, wrap, and ship it on an adventure — perhaps to your house!
