A perfect Christmas day at Jólaþorpið in Hafnarfjörður. Thanks Eliza, my Ottawa gal, A great visit even though we locked ourselves in the store 😂. Not too bad eh? We had a neighbour dog pose with 1 of our beautiful Christmas cards by Linn Janssen!!. His smile said it all. (He got paid in treats) Girlfriends who each bought Skotthúfur. Looking great and safe 💕 Last pics are new hats and some crazy cool mittens on their way 😯

Sweet 'Klaki' from my Dogs Wall of Fame brought his people in for a late night shopping trip. One of the reasons I love my shop and workspace, are late night shoppers coming in and finding that perfect something. Everything is handmade in Iceland, with love, by me or the wonderful artisans I represent. 🎄

Reflecting on Kvennafrídagurinn October 2023 where I was asked to give a speech on the equality of women, non-binary, LGBTQ+ and foreign women in Iceland.
It was a momentous day to speak before over 150,000 people live.
To speak from my heart ❤️
Everyone is gathering again today for the 50th year anniversary of the first Woman's March.
Today I can only reflect as I am bed ridden and on crutches but BOY did I want to be there.
And I am there, marching the most, clapping the hardest, singing the loudest and cheering until my throat is hoarse, for all of you who are there. ❤️

Saying goodbye 👋🏾 to this wonderful Sumargestur, Mayor Kevin Chudd of Gimli Manitoba. He came here in honour of the Icelanders who came to Canada 150yrs ago. I have been inspired by him, and his wife and learned so much of the community of the New Icelanders in Winnipeg.
He received this beautiful lopapeysa (Icelandic wool sweater) knit by my Mother-in-law in an incredible four days!!! The pattern she chose was very appropriate for the Mayor, it being 'The Castle'.
This is a new wonderful, deep and new connection from Iceland to Canada to Iceland and back to Canada.
Thank you to Gimli, your Mayor, and we will most certainly be seeing you again, very soon 💕 🇨🇦 🇮🇸

Late night at Tíra cutting material for skotthúfur (tailcaps) for Ljósanótt in Keflavík September 4th-7th
Great to grab a flat white from Barbarakaffi to keep me going.
20 hats down maybe 10 to go? 🤔
It's nights like these that make SO grateful that my store and work studio are 90 steps from home 🏡
At least I have good company with these 5 friends. I make each one from materials completely recycled from workshop 😯 Material from felted wool hats, cotton lining, toques, Icelandic tweed, and accessories from stored leather I stripped from a couch several years ago. Most of this material would have been sent to landfills.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by while I'm working it is so very appreciated. One person even found her doll twin, and other people found reflectors and mittens.

I'll be working like this most of the weekend if you're walking and it's getting dark and you need reflectors! The days are getting shorter and kids are starting school 🎒
