𝗩𝗜𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗔 - 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢 𝗟𝗔 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗛𝗔

There's a detail in the story of this first ascent worth telling.

During the expedition in Peru, , Pietro Saggiante and caught several trout in the lakes at the base of the wall. Looking up at the imposing East Pillar of Siula Grande, they couldn't help but notice a resemblance: the cracks on the wall echoed the shape of the "truchas" they'd just caught.

A nod to the historic "Attraverso il Pesce" route on Marmolada. And so "Attraverso la Trucha" was born.

C'è un dettaglio nella storia di questa apertura che vale la pena raccontare.

Durante la spedizione in Perù, Mattia, Pietro e Sandro hanno pescato numerose trote nei laghi ai piedi della parete. Guardando poi l'imponente Pilastro Est del Siula Grande, non hanno potuto fare a meno di notare una somiglianza: le fessure della parete richiamavano la forma di quelle trote pescate poco prima.

Un omaggio alla storica "Attraverso il Pesce" in Marmolada. E così è nato il nome "Attraverso la Trucha".

Il nostro atleta Giovanni Placci chiude con questo risultato una trip in Francia ai vertici dell'arrampicata: Condé de Choc (9a) e San Ku Kai (8C+, in flash) a Entraygues, "La Moustache qui Fâche" (9a+), fino al flash di "The Famous Gem" a La Saume, il traguardo più grande della sua carriera fin qui.

𝗦𝗜𝗨𝗟𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘 - 𝗩𝗜𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗔

Our athlete , alongside his partners Pietro Saggiante and Sandro Maranetto, completed a beautiful and complex opening, climbed entirely from the ground up in pure alpine style.

Over 700 meters of vertical gain, 13 pitches, difficulties up to 7b (6c+ mandatory), and AI5 ice sections.
A harsh, committing environment where it’s just you, your partners, and the deep isolation of the Cordillera Huayhuash.

The legendary Siula Grande has a new line on its aesthetic East Pillar.
They pushed through snowfall on the wall and endured a critical second bivouac, spending the night sitting on a tiny ledge.
Then came the arrival at the top of the pillar at 4:30 PM on July 11th, followed by the clear-headed decision to turn back before the main summit due to dangerous, unconsolidated fresh snow on the ridge.

A line that shows how the spirit of discovery is alive, fueled by the dreams and tenacity of a new generation that keeps looking beyond the horizon.

La cordata composta dal nostro atleta , Pietro Saggiante e Sandro Maranetto, ha firmato l'apertura di una nuova via sull'estetico Pilastro Est del Siula Grande.

Oltre 700 metri di sviluppo, 13 lunghezze, difficoltà fino al 7b (6c+ obbligatorio) e sezioni di ghiaccio AI5.
La via è stata aperta dal basso e in stile alpino, senza installare campi intermedi permanenti, lungo una linea che alterna arrampicata libera su roccia, terreno misto e canali ghiacciati. Un ambiente severo dove ci sei solo tu, la cordata e l'isolamento della Cordillera Huayhuash.

Nessuno di loro aveva mai gestito una spedizione del genere.
Hanno dovuto adattarsi, fare i conti con il meteo imprevedibile e bivaccare appesi su una cengia minuscola a metà parete.
Poi, la decisione finale di fermarsi alla fine del pilastro per via delle condizioni pericolose della cresta.

Chapeau a questi ragazzi! Una salita pulita, come piace a noi, che ci dimostra come l’alpinismo esplorativo sia in ottima salute alimentato dai sogni delle nuove generazioni.

🎢 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 is not just the name of the route—it is the rhythm of every day spent on the wall.

On the complex 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵-𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝟳 (𝟲,𝟵𝟯𝟰 𝗺) in the Karakoram, conditions were constantly changing: fresh snowfall before the weather window, an unstable snowpack, and a mountain that demanded total attention from the first pitch to the last.

Together with , , and .duc , our athlete helped forge a new line on this immense face.

The route is dedicated to Mario Conti, historic member of the , whose legacy is tied to landmark ascents in international alpinism, from Cerro Torre (1974) to major Himalayan and Patagonian expeditions that shaped modern mountaineering.

𝟮𝟴 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, up to 𝗪𝗜𝟱+, 𝗠𝟳, and 𝗔𝟭. Vertical ice, fragile mixed terrain, and constant decisions between pushing on or stepping back. After 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, the team reached the crest at ~𝟲,𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗺, linking with the historic Japanese route of 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰, where the mountain asked for respect over ambition.

A true 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, where uncertainty became clarity, and commitment became the real summit.
