What happens when denim is taken out of place?

In Fuera de Lugar, Alonso Leyva reimagines the suit as an instrument of presence: an amplified silhouette shaped by 1940s tailoring, the Zoot Suit, Latin American culture and streetwear.

Total white denim becomes a surface to read at close range. Thousands of micro-abrasions, created through a deliberately altered sewing needle, disrupt the weave and build an irregular, three-dimensional texture. Structural folds and patterns inspired by traditional Peruvian weaving further transform the fabric, while preserving its unmistakable identity.

Here, imperfection is intentional. The gesture remains visible. And denim becomes a living archive of construction, culture and personal experience.

Developed for the FW27 collection, this premium piece-dyed fabric recreates the authentic appearance of washed, lived-in denim through natural délavé contrasts generated during standard garment washing.

Part of the FW27 Weaving developments, Double Color combines an indigo warp with custom sulfur-dyed mélange wefts developed exclusively for Berto.

Built with a bespoke mouliné yarn, the colored wefts subtly emerge beneath the indigo surface, revealing unexpected nuances and creating a sophisticated interplay of tones and depth.
