🚐 Italy by Camper: Discovering Campania!
Our travel series takes you on a journey through the wonders of Italy… right from your motorhome! Region by region, we suggest the best stops for those looking to discover fascinating places, nature, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.
Today, we explore Campania, a vibrant land where ancient history meets one of the most famous coastlines in the world.
📍 Atrani Discover the smallest municipality in Italy by area—a gem nestled into the rock that perfectly preserves its medieval fishing village structure. ➡️ Camper Tip: You can find parking and rest areas nearby, ideal for leaving the camper and exploring the village on foot.
📍 Pompei Step back in time at the Archaeological Park, a site offering the most incredible testimony of daily life in Ancient Rome. ➡️ Camper Tip: The area is exceptionally well-served by numerous campsites and fully equipped motorhome parking areas right next to the site entrances.
📍 Castellabate Visit this stunning medieval village in the heart of Cilento, made famous by the film "Welcome to the South." Its castle and narrow streets offer breathtaking views of the sea. ➡️ Camper Tip: Motorhome rest areas are available both in the upper village and in the seaside hamlets like Santa Maria di Castellabate.
📍 Amalfi Coast Drive along one of the most scenic roads in the world, between cliffs plunging into the blue sea and colorful villages like Positano and Amalfi. ➡️ Camper Tip: Due to the narrow roads, we recommend staying at campsites in Maiori or Salerno and using local ferries or buses to explore the coast in total relaxation.
