Borgini Jersey Srl

Borgini Jersey Srl Innovative products with high quality standards Borgini Jersey S.r.l.

was founded in November 1973 in Como, in one of the most innovative and important areas of the textile sector for Italy and Europe. The goal of Borgini Jersey was to provide innovative products with high quality standards, in compliance with international principles. Since the beginning this vision was brought to reality thanks to the passion and synergy developed within the company, both for tech

nical /productive part and commercial staff. Starting with the production of greige for converters, then moving along to the production of greige for printing and for dyeing, while remaining within the same market. Since the 80s the company decided to differentiate from competitors, shifting its production to a particular polymer, the polyester. The combination between clothing sector knowledge and new requests for technical fibers led to the creation of new types of cutting edge products that have spread across the entire global market. Our product development is the result of creativity combined with technical knowledge and experience. For these reasons the staff and the employees are fundamental for the company, adding a real value that differentiate Borgini Jersey from its competitors. Our strength is the constant innovation and exclusive differentiation of product and that’s why our company features a full range of more that 70 different types of machinery.

What characteristics should a running shirt fabric have to perform on the hottest days?

As temperatures and intensity rise, lightness and breathability are no longer just details: they become essential for both comfort and performance.

That is why we combined two Borgini Jersey fabrics, each engineered to perform a specific function.

SOBEK, used for the main body of the shirt, is soft, stretchy and ultralight, weighing only 90 g/m². Its smooth, skin-friendly surface helps reduce chafing and irritation, even during longer runs. It also supports effective moisture management and quick drying.

BREVA, used for the inserts, weighs just 55 g/m². Its ultralight structure enhances breathability and airflow in the areas where heat and perspiration build up the most.

The result is a textile system designed to deliver softness, stretch, ventilation and rapid drying, even in the most demanding summer conditions.

Two fabrics. Two functions. One goal: greater comfort when running in the heat.

Because performance begins with the fabric.

Borgini Jersey’s percentages in the textile world tell the story of who we are, what we produce, and how our expertise has evolved over time.

Today, seven sectors represent the different sides of our production: from sportswear to fashion, from beachwear and underwear to furnishings and technical fabrics for converters.

Different fields, each with its own specific requirements, united by the same ability to develop textile solutions that combine aesthetics, comfort, functionality, and performance.

Every project is built on our knowledge of fibres, attention to detail, and ongoing commitment to research and development. This is how we transform materials into versatile, contemporary fabrics designed to meet the evolving needs of the market.

Figures and percentages that tell a story of expertise, innovation, and continuous evolution.

What does the future hold for the textile market?

In this interview, Mauro Borgini reflects on some of the industry’s main challenges: understanding new market needs, developing lightweight, high-performance fabrics, and paying greater attention to environmental impact.

Innovation and sustainability are not only about the choice of fibres and finishes. They also mean creating products that are comfortable, easy to care for, and designed to last.

Because the future of textiles also rests on a simple principle: creating garments that retain their value beyond a single season.

Behind every fabric, there is a process.

Machines in motion, precise production steps, technical expertise, and constant attention to detail: this is where ideas take shape and research becomes something tangible.

Every stage contributes to the final result—from the careful selection and processing of materials to the technologies and skills that ensure quality, consistency, and performance.

These images offer a closer look inside Borgini’s production: a place where experience meets innovation and every fabric is the result of knowledge, commitment, and care.

Because quality is not defined by a single step. It is built every day, throughout the entire production process.

Behind every fabric is an organization working every day to ensure continuity, financial stability, and the ability to innovate.

When people think about a textile company, they often focus on research, development, and production. But none of this would be possible without careful planning, financial oversight, and effective management.

In this interview, Antonella Borgini shares what it means to manage the administrative and financial side of a modern manufacturing company in an ever-evolving market-from balancing costs, investments, and cash flow to ensuring that organization supports growth, sustainability, and long-term development.

These responsibilities take on even greater significance in a family-owned business, where financial performance goes hand in hand with values such as trust, responsibility, and continuity across generations.

Because true innovation also means building on a solid foundation while preserving the identity that makes a company unique.

**Three visions. One textile expertise.**

Milano Unica has come to an end, leaving us with valuable conversations, new connections, and fresh inspiration for the months ahead.

Throughout the exhibition, we showcased three collections representing three distinct visions of textile development: **Technical Fabrics** by Borgini Jersey, designed for the performance world; **Technical Fashion**, where technical fabrics are reimagined for contemporary fashion; and **Noble Fibres**, a selection of premium jersey fabrics crafted from refined natural fibres for high-end collections.

*"The strong interest we received confirms that technical innovation is increasingly becoming a key element not only in performance apparel but also in contemporary fashion. We had the opportunity to discuss exciting new projects with brands looking for high-quality, versatile textile solutions."*
— **Andrea Lucchina**

For Fashion Jersey, the event reinforced the growing importance of premium materials and textile research.

*"Milano Unica once again proved to be an outstanding opportunity to exchange ideas with designers and brands. The attention towards noble fibres, quality raw materials, and innovative jersey developments confirms that the market is moving towards increasingly sophisticated textile solutions."*
— **Michela Borgini**

A sincere thank you to everyone who visited our stand, shared ideas with us, and took the time to discover our collections.

We look forward to turning these conversations into new collaborations and future textile innovations.

Collections are designed with the future in mind. And today, that future is already focused on 2027.

In the fashion world, we are seeing a growing demand for fabrics that create value through material, structure, and light. It's not just about aesthetics, but about surfaces that respond to new creative and production needs.

Michela Borgini, Sales Manager at Fashion Jersey, introduces some of the fabrics we will be showcasing at Milano Unica comfortable lurex jerseys, three-dimensional structures, certified premium fibres, and ultra-fine interlocks developed for new applications.

A selection shaped by close market listening and the continuous development of textile solutions for contemporary fashion.

Collection development often starts with one key question: which fabric is the right one?

At Milano Unica, we will present three complementary textile directions:

Borgini Jersey: technical fabrics for sport and activewear, designed for performance, comfort and reliability.

Fashion Jersey – Silver Collection: technical fabrics reinterpreted for fashion, where aesthetics and functionality work together.

Fashion Jersey – Gold Collection: jersey fabrics made with noble and natural fibres, created for collections focused on quality, hand feel and refinement.

Three collections, one shared approach: developing fabrics that help designers and product teams turn an idea into a collection.

Modern tailoring is no longer defined by appearance alone. Performance has become part of the design.

As lifestyles evolve, expectations for formalwear are changing. Professionals and frequent travellers increasingly look for garments that combine elegance with practicality, comfort and freedom of movement.

This is why technical jersey fabrics are becoming an increasingly valuable choice for tailoring collections.

Their key advantages include:
• 4-way stretch
• wrinkle resistance
• easy-care performance
• lightweight comfort
• shape retention throughout the day

Rather than replacing traditional tailoring, technical jersey expands its possibilities, allowing designers to create garments that meet the demands of contemporary lifestyles without compromising sophistication.

Today, designing a collection means designing not only how a garment looks, but also how it performs.

Do some fabrics in your collection lose color, fade, or change appearance after just a few washes?

More often than not, the answer lies not in the color itself, but in the way that color has been fixed to the fiber.

In the dyeing of synthetic fibers, every parameter affects the final result: temperature, pH, processing time, dye diffusion, fiber structure, and dye bath control.

Poorly managed dyeing can compromise wash fastness, rubbing resistance, color uniformity, and long-term color stability.

That is why, at Borgini Jersey, dyeing is not treated as a purely aesthetic step, but as a technical process that requires precise control.

Thanks to our expertise in the different behaviors of synthetic fibers, careful management of process parameters, and rigorous material testing, we are able to deliver fabrics with stable, uniform, and long-lasting color.

Because a high-performance fabric should not only look good the first time it is used.

It should retain its quality, color, and reliability over time.
