Mason Editions presents its first armchair — an essential encounter between material, balance, and design gesture.
With this first project, Mason Editions expands its design language, continuing a research-driven approach that places the relationship between function and form, material and space, at its core.
Fold is an armchair made from a metal sheet that is cut and folded. The two shapes generate the object’s volume through soft bends and wide radiuses, in contrast with the rigidity and precision of the material. The form remains essential, preserving the readability of the sheet’s two-dimensional origin. In the armchair, the compact and taut structure contrasts with large, soft cushions, defined by full and unstructured shapes.
