Her philosophy that luxury should not only be defined by price is reflected in Wait and See’s international and transversal, yet affordable offering. Many of the pieces for sale in Wait and See are made exclusively for the store. Uberta choses each garment with characteristic flair and attention to detail. There is no one item in the shop that hasn’t been lovingly selected with a clear vision of Wait and See’s signature style. Wait and See principally carries womenswear, with a refined assortment of clothing, accessories, jewellery, stationery and vintage pieces sourced exclusively from all over the world, from the UK to France, from Finland to California. Housed in an 18th century former convent, reinterpreted with the warmth of a home, Wait and See looks onto the timeless via Santa Marta in Milan’s beautiful historical centre. The space also lends itself perfectly to a gallery where artists' and designers’ exhibitions have been hosted since its inauguration in 2010. UBERTA ZAMBELETTI
Wait and See was founded by Uberta Zambeletti, a multi-faceted aesthete, as a reflection of her personal and professional life. Following her studies in Madrid and Paris culminating in an HND in Textile Design at Chelsea School of Art and an MA in Fashion Knitwear at the Royal College of Art in London, she has been fashion designer, stylist, interior decorator, art director and fashion coordinator for major international brands and companies such as Missoni, Max Mara, Anna Molinari, Etro, P***o, Sinv and Gruppo Rinascente. Nel centro storico di Milano, 5 VIE, c'è un nuovo concetto di store, qualcosa di più e di diverso di un negozio. Si chiama Wait and See: un invito aperto e promettente, che suggerisce tempo e calma anche solo, appunto, per ‘guardare’, mentre si sorseggia una tazza di caffè. L’unicità di Wait and See è un riflesso delle svariate influenze culturali e della riconosciuta passione per la ricerca della designer Uberta Zambeletti. Il credo di Uberta per cui il lusso non è solo definibile dal prezzo, sarà riflesso nelle accessibili proposte internazionali e trasversali, con un limite che non supera i €750 e che parte dai 50¢. Siamo nel contesto di un ex convento del ‘700, rivisitato con il calore di una casa, affacciata sulla storica via Santa Marta. Rivolgendosi principalmente ad un pubblico femminile, ma proponendo prodotti selezionati anche per uomo e bambino, Wait and See contiene: abbigliamento, accessori, bijoux, oggetti, cartoleria e pezzi vintage, per lo più mai prima distribuiti a Milano e provenienti da ogni dove, dal UK alla Francia, dalla Finlandia alla California. Il progetto ‘Wait and See’ lo fonda Uberta Zambeletti, dall’estetica sfacettata: come la sua vita ed il suo percorso professionale.
