Habitare nasce così dall’incontro tra arte, artigianato e percezione sensoriale, trasformando l’atto quotidiano di profumare uno spazio in un momento di contemplazione. L’oggetto diventa parte dell’architettura domestica: non un accessorio, ma una presenza silenziosa che dialoga con la luce, con i materiali e con la memoria dei luoghi.

Ogni edizione di Habitare esplora una relazione diversa tra materia e atmosfera. Alcune nascono dal dialogo con artigiani e tradizioni materiali, altre da contesti specifici o luoghi carichi di storia. In queste edizioni speciali, l’oggetto assume la forma di una scultura olfattiva site-specific, dove la materia visibile e la fragranza invisibile costruiscono insieme l’esperienza.

“Time Capsules”, an Interactive sound installation by Elena Pelosi has been selected for the NY20+ Residency in Bashu, China, as part of the Venice Arte Laguna Residency Program 2025.

Drawing from the Ba–Shu scripts, undeciphered writing systems from the ancient kingdoms of Ba and Shu, the work engages with a language that can no longer be read, yet continues to exist as visual trace. The process includes material research such as local clay, stone powders, bamboo fibers, natural pigments, and recycled fragments from Chengdu’s urban landscape which are transformed into sculptural forms engraved with reinterpreted symbols. Marks emerge as voids and reliefs, holding absence and presence within the same surface.
The installation translates unreadable language into tactile vessels, creating a dialogue between archaeological memory and contemporary material practice.
Developed within the context of NY20+, the residency supports research, experimentation, and cultural exchange, allowing the project to evolve in direct relation to the materials, history, and landscape of the Bashu region.

Featured in the March 2026 issue of Living Corriere della Sera, the Capri Table designed by Elena Pelosi Studio for Pedretti Home highlights the project’s use of reclaimed marble and sculptural form.

The Capri collection transforms the traditional beauty of the Mediterranean coast into refined contemporary furniture elements. The collection of coffee tables and modular tables made of colored marble is distinguished by its unique texture, characterised by broad, striking tone-on-tone stripes reminiscent of the iconic striped curtains of the Italian coastal landscape. The rectangular or square tables play with semicircles for their legs, creating a dialogue between linearity and curves. The module of circle and semicircle is present in all pieces of the collection, becoming the unifying element that characterises the entire line.

Reusing discarded and outdated marbles to create unique pieces, the collection promotes the revaluation of raw materials.
