Chapter 05 emerges from an ongoing dialogue between RETORI and Chinese American artist Ye Zhu, exploring ideas of connection, transformation and becoming.

Presented at Salotto Retori during Milan Fashion Week, Zhu’s works “Ego Decay” and “Death Before Dying and Rebirth Before Death”, reflect his exploration of materiality and spirituality, an approach to art and life as forms of cultivation, where experiences, emotions and memories are planted, transformed and ultimately brought into bloom.

CHAPTER 05 - SYNTROPY
Studio Lilo | Studio Lilo

For Chapter 05 - Syntropy, Studio Lilo, the Berlin-based floral design practice led by Lilo Klinkenberg, reimagines Salotto Retori through a site-specific botanical intervention.

Natural forms emerge from within the space, growing along walls, inhabiting corners and moving through the rooms, creating the impression of a single organism unfolding throughout the environment.

Pieces from Chapter 05 are woven into this living landscape, becoming part of the environment rather than simply displayed within it.
