I’ve been working with generative AI tools for over three years.

It’s an extraordinary technology and now part of my daily workflow.

But there is a big difference between generating images and building a real collection.

AI can create possibilities.

But defining the right direction, choosing materials, constructions, outsoles, proportions, fitting and understanding what is truly industrializable requires technical knowledge and experience.

AI can accelerate the creative process, but it still needs to be guided, corrected and integrated with other tools.

For me, the future is not AI or experience.

It is AI + technology + technical expertise + experience.

AI generates possibilities. Experience decides which ones make sense.

After 35 years in footwear, I’ve learned that a strong collection starts before the first shoe is designed.

It starts with strategy.

Clear direction on product, categories, materials, colors, constructions and price points saves time, reduces unnecessary development and creates stronger collections.

What sometimes looks like “extra planning” at the beginning often becomes the biggest advantage later.

Experience is not only knowing how to design a shoe.

It is knowing how to build the right collection around it.
