Over the next three years, the partnership will support key initiatives designed to reveal the natural and cultural heritage of the area. The shared goal is to establish Stelvio National Park as one of the Alps’ leading trekking destinations, offering authentic, sustainable and accessible experiences to an international audience.

There is a moment, while walking through the Abruzzo National Park, when the forest seems to change its voice.

For AKU Ambassador and mountain guide Alessandro Franza, these signs are the beginning of a story: one about a living, inhabited and complex landscape, where humans are not alone.

Through encounters with wolves, bears, eagles and chamois, Alessandro helps people move beyond fear and simplification. His work is not only about guiding along trails, but about showing how wildlife, local communities, farmers and producers share the same territory every day.

Coexistence here is neither romantic or easy. It is built on knowledge, attention, adaptation and respect.

On 25 July, AKU ambassador Camilla Reggio will set out on Le montagne che sono casa: a 325-kilometre journey across the south-western Alps, with an additional 60 kilometres by bike.

Camilla will connect valleys, peaks and walls through trekking, climbing and mountaineering, staying in huts, bivouacs, tents and friends’ homes along the way. More than a route, it is a journey through the places and relationships that have shaped her life in the mountains.

A project shaped by freedom and awareness, movement and responsibility, and by the willingness to let the mountains set the pace.

One shoe. Two ways to move.

The AKU Rock DFS II GTX features the Dual Fit System, designed to adapt the fit to different phases of use.

The traditional lace system offers comfort during the approach, when the goal is to move naturally over distance and varied terrain. The fast lacing system increases sensitivity and precision when the route becomes more technical, helping the foot work with greater accuracy on small holds and climbing sections.

From hiking pace to climbing focus, DFS allows the fit to change with the mountain.
