In its raw state (grezzo), a cloth is rigid, covered in processing oils, and structurally tense. The true magic happens in our wet finishing department during the scouring phase. By submerging the fabric in precisely calibrated baths of our Biellese alpine water, we wash away every trace of production residues. It is a transformative moment: freed from tension, the fibres instantly relax, swell, and breathe.

Why can a fabric woven with the exact same yarn, on the exact same looms, only achieve perfection in Biella? The secret is fluid flows directly from our alpine peaks. The water of the Biellese territory is globally recognized for its near-total absence of limestone and heavy minerals. In our mill, this pure alpine water is utilized in the critical washing, scouring (lavaggio), and fulling (follatura) stages. Without mineral interference, our noble fibres can bloom to their full potential, opening up to achieve an extraordinarily soft hand and deep, luminous touch.
