Craftsmanship has never been this rebellious.
If you followed the 43rd edition of Milano Unica dedicated to Fall-Winter 2027/2028, you surely felt that electric shock in the air. The Style Commission’s message leaves no room for doubt: "MU IS PUNK! HANDCRAFT IS PUNK!".
This isn't a nostalgic nod to the 70s, but a manifesto against mass-fashion homogenization. In a world of copy-paste products, making things by hand, elevating pure fibers, and refusing to compromise on sustainability is the ultimate radical act.
This unconventional attitude translates into deep material and color research:
💼 CLASSIC IS PUNK!
The classic wardrobe is hacked. Premium flannels, fine wool pinstripes, and compact double cashmere keep their precision but meet raw metallic finishes. Timeless neutrals dominate: Dove Grey, Chalk White, and Charcoal Black, broken by the reflections of Silver.
🏂 FREESTYLE IS PUNK!
Winter sports meet urban streetwear. The focus is on protective innovation: recycled nylon stretch, ripstop weaves, and water-repellent boiled wool. Organic tones like Chestnut Brownand Resin Green are disrupted by sharp contrasts of Electric Blue, Vermilion Red, and flashes of Neon Fuchsia.
🌹 ROMANCE IS PUNK!
A moody elegance built on layering. Classic lace and macramé blend with rough textures, bi-stretch mesh, crumpled velvets, and bonded leather-effect surfaces. Deep Dark Green, To***co Brown, and Brick Red are softened by Pinkish Greige and warm Rust.
Framing this vision was "The Radical Elegance" photo exhibition with the Gian Paolo Barbieri Foundation and the AquiLANA project, focused on recovering regional Italian wool supply chains.
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone we met. It has been an intense journey: two days of conversations, discoveries, and new connections that left us deeply inspired.
