CARMINA CAMPUS was founded by Ilaria Venturini Fendi in 2006 as a project envisioning a pioneering and sustainable approach to fashion and design, in which creativity and craftsmanship merge with environmental safeguarding and social commitment. Its mission is also to promote a wider enviromental knowledge and greater ecological consciousness. Resorting to high quality Italian craftsmanship, Carm
ina Campus employs only discarded or unused but out-of-production materials, either stocks, end-of-lines, leftovers, or materials that did not pass quality production standards, or are no longer fit for their original purpose, to design and produce collections of handbags, accessories and furniture. Carmina Campus products are mostly one-of- a-kind and each piece is tagged with name and number of the style and list of materials used. It was active in Africa, at first with an independent project and later with a UN agency and collaborates with a group of social work private organization for a line entirely made in Italian prisons. DESIGNER: 創設者ILARIA VENTURINI FEND（イラリア・ヴェントゥリー二・フェンディ）はフェンディ家の一員で、長い間家業のデザイン活動を行ってきました。その後、会社を辞めると、幼少時から自然の中で動物と遊ぶことが大好きだったイラリアは、オーガニック農業の経営をスタートさせました。農業を通じて自然と大地とのつながりを強く意識するようになったイラリアは、これらの経験をベースに自然や環境に配慮したモノづくりに取り組みたいと考え、カルミナ・カンプスのプロジェクトが誕生。農業とデザイン活動という全く違う２つの活動は、内面的には一つのコンセプト（環境とエコ）を共有しており、慣習にとらわれない新たなクリエイションへのアプローチとなっているのです。
NAME: ラテン語でCHANTS OF THE FIELD(大地の聖歌)を連想させる言葉。本来のプロジェクトコンセプトのもと採用された。
