- follow along as I work with an amazing artisan furniture maker here in Tuscany!

While I’m usually in the studio working with our leather artisans, sometimes I get the opportunity to venture out into other products. 🙏🏻

The best part about living in Italy for me is truly being able to design and craft all the designs swirling around in my head. 🤪 As a designer, it’s truly a dream.

This one is the biggest creations I have ever attempted so follow along and let’s see if this is the official start of Sieme interiors 🥰 - what would you love to see about this process?

We’ll have tassels, Scala charms, cobra straps and so much more so you can fully customize any style.

HOT TAKE: you don’t have to sacrifice style for practicality. Even at the farmers market. 😂

Maybe it’s the 9 years in Italy talking, but give me white linen, woven loafers and a beautiful leather bag over leggings in August any day.

And honestly, this is exactly why I designed the Via.

Since becoming a mom, I understand the appeal of hands free very differently. But I still want to feel like myself. I wanted a bag that could do all the practical things I needed it to do without looking purely practical.

So Via is my version of the bum bag. Handcrafted in Tuscany from rescued Italian luxury leather, elevated enough to make the outfit, and easy enough to throw on when you’re running out the door to buy tomatoes. 🍅

And if you’re at the Jersey Shore, you can come try her on tomorrow.

I’ll be at Flying Point in Ventnor from 10–5 with Via and the rest of the newest Sieme collection.

Come say hi, try on some bags and weigh in on the very important question of whether we can officially make farmers market chic a thing. 🤍

Presale is here! If you have been following along, we have been working on the new collection bags for MONTHS. And they are finally here 😱 (well, almost). Here’s the deal… next week we are taking these bags to The New York Now show and we are so excited to find new boutiques to partner with. However, we want to make sure anyone who has been eyeing our new collection gets first dibs! I mean hey, I’m manifesting we sell out at the show 🙏🏻😁

So, here is your chance to pre order a new collection bag and we will ship it as soon as it arrives stateside - around 10 days.

Every colorway is made in small batches and once we sell out, we can never repeat it exactly.

And for those of you who are new, our bags ship from New Jersey 🇺🇸 so no international shipping costs or surprise import taxes!

Which one have you been eyeing? See you at the checkout 🥰

With love from Florence ❤️

POV: This is where all my money disappears. 😅

While most people imagine fashion founders sketching beautiful designs in a studio, I’m usually driving around Tuscany convincing myself that I definitely need one more box of rescued leather, woven panels, or overstock cording for “future projects.”

Today’s stop was one of our leather cording suppliers to dig through beautiful overstock that will eventually find its way into future Sieme designs.

This is honestly one of my favorite parts of building the brand.

Because I’m here, living and working in the Italian leather industry every day, I get access to opportunities that simply wouldn’t exist from an office halfway around the world.

I get to walk through factories, meet the people making incredible materials, rescue beautiful components before they’re forgotten, and imagine what they could become next.

It’s slower. It’s messier. It definitely requires more storage space than I planned for. 😅

But it’s also what makes Sieme… Sieme.

Every new project starts long before a sketch. It starts with discovering something beautiful and asking, “What could this become?”

Part 2 is coming next… I’ll unbox everything I brought home and show you what I found. 👀🤍

Florence has taught me that beauty is almost never loud.

It’s in the details.

The hand painted edge of a leather strap. The perfectly woven panel that takes hours to complete. The custom hardware developed specifically for one design. The final threads carefully finished by hand before a piece ever leaves the workshop.

They’re the kinds of details that are easy to take for granted.

Until they’re missing.

Until the edge starts peeling. The hardware scratches after a few wears. The threads begin to unravels. The leather finish fades.

That’s exactly why we build our bags the way we do.
Every woven panel, every painted edge, every custom clasp, every stitch is the result of hundreds of small decisions made by people who genuinely care about their craft. Not because those details are obvious, but because they’re what make a bag feel beautiful years from now, not just the day you buy it.

After living and working in the Italian leather industry for the past eight years, I’ve realized that’s what Made in Italy really means.

Not just where something is made, but a culture of excellence. One where craftsmanship is a source of pride and every detail matters, whether it’s seen or not.

Those quiet details may go unnoticed.
But they’re the reason a piece becomes something you reach for, year after year.

With love from Florence,
Cassandra 🤍

If you’re new here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself. 🤍

I’m Cassandra, the founder of Sieme.

Almost 9 years ago, I left New York and moved to Florence to work in the Italian leather industry. What I found here completely changed the direction of my career.

I was shocked by how much beautiful leather was being discarded during luxury production. Perfect leather. Incredible quality. Materials that deserved another life.

So I started Sieme.

Everything begins in our Leather Upcycling Studio, where we sort, curate, and give new purpose to rescued leather sourced from the Italian luxury fashion industry. From there, each piece is handwoven and handcrafted entirely in Tuscany by the artisans and family run workshops we proudly call our partners.

But Sieme has always been about more than handbags.

It’s about celebrating craftsmanship, supporting the people who keep these traditional techniques alive, and sharing a side of Italy that most visitors never get to experience.

That’s why I love taking you behind the scenes into our factories, workshops, and artisan studios. I want you to know the people, the process, and the story behind the things you carry.

It’s also why I created the Sieme Circle.

Inside, I share my personal guide to Florence filled with my favorite independent boutiques, artisan workshops, restaurants, vintage shops, and hidden gems. Not the places you’ll find all over social media, but the ones I’d recommend to a friend visiting the city. You’ll also receive first access to new launches, exclusive offers, and even more behind the scenes from life here in Tuscany.

If that sounds like your kind of community, I’d love to have you join us.

Welcome to Sieme. I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍

With love from Florence,

Cassandra ✨
