We develop projects from conception to production, working partially or entirely in all phases. Since 2010, we participate to a series of research projects with the support of important institutions such as: Salt Istanbul, Biennale di Architettura di Venezia

La Bocciofila apre a BASE Milano! 
Il 22 luglio dalle 18:00 fino a tarda sera, il cortile si trasformerà in una piazza estiva per celebrare l’inaugurazione della nuova bocciofila. Lo spazio è pensato come luogo di incontro per persone di tutte le età: i visitatori potranno giocare a bocce e a burraco, ballare, socializzare e chiacchierare sorseggiando drink che racchiudono l’essenza dell’estate italiana.

A year after the Fradeo table, we returned to Enzo Mari’s work with a new tribute: a table designed for the Ferrando family in Turin, for their beautiful home by Errante Architettura and Elastico Farm.

The project takes its cue from the iconic truss table of Mari’s Autoprogettazione series. Rather than a replica, it is a reinterpretation of its constructive principles, adapted to a different context and new functional requirements, in the spirit of the approach Mari himself encouraged in his manual. The entire table is cut from a single 3.10 × 1.80 m sheet of okoumé plywood, from which all the components of the top, legs, and central spine are obtained. The design stems from the idea of using the material in the most essential way possible, reducing waste and conceiving the table as a unified system.

Compared to Mari’s original archetype, the geometry of the legs has been inverted and tilted to create a buttress-like configuration that stiffens the structure and minimizes vibrations across a 3.10 × 1.10 m tabletop.

As in Mari’s constructive tradition, the whole table is assembled exclusively with nails, allowing the logic of construction and the material itself to determine its final form.

Following our initial project for Parco Gallery, completed in 2024, we returned to Via Zuretti, now Frakas Design Studio, to follow its next phase.

The project was driven by the need to create a dedicated space for production: a home for the neighbourhood’s new Risograph printer, but also a venue for workshops, laboratories and collaborative working sessions.

The structure consists of four bookcases that serve both as load-bearing elements and as storage units for books, paper and work tools. Above them, a lightweight roof defines a new room without disrupting the continuity of the space, allowing light to pass through and maintaining an open connection with the rest of the studio.

Four screens allow the workshop’s layout to be adapted as required, transforming into walls, partitions and supports for displaying prints and posters. The space can thus shift from a workshop to a small classroom for workshops, and even become part of the studio’s overall layout.

The bright colour and compact geometry of the structure make it a recognisable feature within the space: a new home for the Risograph and, at the same time, a flexible element that supports Frakas Design Studio’s various activities. As with the first project, this one too stems from the idea of constructing simple elements capable of adapting to different uses and transforming the space over time.

Framing Problems is an exhibition project by Biennale Tecnologia and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, curated by Federico Bomba (Sineglossa) and Bernardo Follini (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo). The exhibition unfolds across a series of installations presented in different locations throughout the city, featuring works by Hito Steyerl, Forensic Architecture, Martina Marciniak, and Roberto Fassone.

The project encompassed both the exhibition design, developed in close collaboration with the curators and artists, and the creation of a display system capable of presenting and identifying the works across a range of exhibition settings, each with its own spatial and architectural conditions.
Starting from the simple, stable geometry of the cone, we developed a family of freestanding concrete bases that support the exhibition’s entire interpretive and wayfinding system, including colophons, wall texts, and artwork labels.

The system is conceived as modular and highly adaptable. Each component is independent and interchangeable: a concrete base supports an aluminum pole, while the graphic elements are attached using a series of custom 3D-printed fittings that can be adjusted in height and easily reconfigured to respond to different exhibition contexts.

“Dati Sensibili” is a research inquiry curated by Sineglossa, in dialog with the Associazione Archivio Storico Olivetti. It is structured around three themes: city, technology, and labour, explored through a selection of objects, models, and prints from the Ivrea archive.

The exhibition design emerged from one of our early site visits and from observing the containers designed by Akira Kimura for the Olivetti Archive: serial, robust, and functional devices that we adopt as an exhibition system. Arranged in the space, they operate simultaneously as support and content, forming a modular landscape in which archival materials enter into a direct relationship with the architecture of the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano.

The Sala dei Plebisciti is transformed into an informal assembly space around OLO, the exhibition’s conversational agent. Nine rolls of velvet carpet, temporarily removed from their original function, define a horizontal, non hierarchical configuration dedicated to encounters and conversation between the public and the device. By minimizing gestures and transformations, the project frames reuse and reconfiguration as a principle of operational lightness.

Moving a 3 × 1.5 m table through Venice is a challenge in itself.

Fradeo isn’t just a table - it’s a system. Its frame and legs transform into a stretcher, a smart, intuitive transport device. In this phase, the table temporarily “loses” its function to become a collaborative gesture of movement. From the narrow Venetian streets to the studio, every step is part of the project. Once in place, it’s reassembled and returns to its role as a working surface, ready for use. A table that adapts to the city, the journey, and the people who handle it: large yet demountable, solid yet mobile.
