木材は多様な樹種を使っています。青森ヒバ、シナ、杉、米松、ヒノキ、オーク。暮らしの背景となるインテリアを、木という質感でトーンを揃えながら、色や木目の違う異なる樹種を使うことで、必然的に持ち込まれる生活の中に色々なモノやコトを受け止めながらも、一定の質をたもつ場をつくっています。

A variety of wood species are employed—Aomori Hiba, Japanese linden, cedar, Douglas fir, Japanese cypress, and oak. While unifying the interior—which serves as the backdrop for daily life—through the shared texture of wood, the use of diverse species with varying colors and grain patterns creates a space that maintains a consistent quality, even as it accommodates the assortment of objects and activities inevitably introduced by everyday living.

キッチンはオリジナルで製作しています。ステンレス.バイブレーションの天板に、オーク材のキャビネット、ガスオーブンがついています。外から見える棚と、隠す収納のバランスが施主の個性が出てますね。

壁に水栓を取り付けた、洗面化粧台。造作しています。鏡の裏は収納。洗面化粧台は割と安く造作できるので、オリジナルの洗面化粧台を製作するのがおススメです。

元々６畳だった和室を、３畳＋床の間に小さくしました。その分、土間スペースを大きくしています。和室を小さくしたことで、お茶室の様な小さいゆえに居心地の良い和室になっています。客間にしたり、仕事をしたり、ヨガをしたり、縁側でビールを飲んだり。楽しみスペースになっている様です。

A Japanese-style room that was originally six *tatami* mats in size was reduced to three mats plus an alcove (*tokonoma*), allowing for a larger *doma* (earthen-floored) area. By downsizing the room, it has become a cozy, intimate space—much like a traditional tea room. It serves as a versatile area for various activities: hosting guests, working, practicing yoga, or simply enjoying a beer on the *engawa* (veranda).

土間の待合→アーチ開口のにじり口→和室の畳→床の間→雪見障子→お庭の植栽、と視線が抜ける和室の入り口です。玄関土間は自転車置いたり、作業をしたり日常の動きのある場所。和室の入り口であるにじり口を通るとすこし気持ちが切り替わり、静かな和室に入ります。

This entrance to the Japanese-style room creates a visual flow that extends from the earthen-floored waiting area through an arched *nijiriguchi* (crawling-in entrance) to the tatami mats, the *tokonoma* (alcove), and the *yukimi-shoji* (viewing screens) that frame the garden plantings. The earthen-floored entryway is a space for daily activities, such as parking bicycles or performing tasks; however, passing through the *nijiriguchi* shifts one's mood, leading into the quiet serenity of the Japanese-style room.

仕切られている様で、なんとなく向こうの様子が感じられるのが障子好きな理由。
