My Perfect Little Purse What makes this sweet little purse perfect? For a little bag, the purse has so much room!

It's organized with a main inner pouch, a back pouch (for easy access to phone) and 2 outer front pouches. It closes with heavy duty velcro so everything stays inside. Constructed with designer upholstery weight fabrics (often upcycled) and durable lining. Stiff interfacing is added so even though it’s fabric, it functions like any other purse and won't collapse on itself. Durable cording for the

strap so it won’t slide off your shoulder. Purse measures approx. 9" x 9" with a 48" strap.

Kimono stylin’! Trying out one of the vintage silk kimono that I brought back from the Kyoto Buddhist temple market this fall. This one features origami cranes for the design. There must’ve been 1000 of these for sale for less than $20 each. 100% silk, fully lined, handmade. Mind blowing!

After returning from our trip to Japan, it took me a minute to process all the experiences and the textiles I brought back.

Here's what emerged this week!

1. Medium jacket featuring handwoven, hand-dyed Guatemalan ikat fabric. Soft denim. Bust: 43".

2. Medium jacket featuring a hand-sewn applique from Panama. Royal Robbin brand jacket. Not denim but a sturdy weave. Bust: 41".

We found a fabulous fabric store in Kyoto today! It reminded me of fabric stores from the 60s era in which a vast array of fibers and weaves abounded. The store had three floors - each floor specializing in cotton, woolens, or notions. It was a temple of the sewing arts.

Introducing the Catrina jacket! Catrina comes out in the season of Dia de Los Santos. Her image was popularized by a famous Mexican artist, Jose Guadalupe Posada, that was satirizing the Mexico city elite around the turn of the 1900s. Now she has become a very popular image for the Dia de los Mu***os celebrations. She is featured here in a dazzling sequin appliqué. I also added some little Mexican milagros (“miracle” in Spanish) or religious charms for additional Latin culture references. This jacket is available in a ladies size large. DM me for details.
