I’m on the Shinkansen back to Tokyo after finishing the move-out and closing our pop-up in Kyoto 🚅
To everyone who stopped by during the seven days of the pop-up, and also to those who couldn’t make it this time but kept us in mind—thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the team at (ocue. kyoto and everyone at Buddy Co., Ltd. for supporting us throughout the entire journey, from installation to deinstallation.
Looking back, I first met Miho of okotokoto, Miho Aoki Fichefeux with whom I shared this exhibition, when I was 19 years old. She has taught me so much over the years (and still does), and I feel incredibly grateful for a connection that has remained constant as time continues to move forward.
Once again, I’m reminded of how mysterious and beautiful human connections can be. Whether you are reading this post, visited the exhibition, or sent a message of support, I felt each and every connection.
Twenty-six years after we first met, it made me so happy to see new relationships and possibilities emerge through this exhibition, gradually becoming meaningful connections of their own.
I’m still catching up on posts and replies, but I’ll be in touch soon.
Thank you so much, truly, for everything.
Yoshiyo
