【彼らは何をする人ぞ】

Ciao! ベネチアンバザーです🎭

当店のアイコンにもなっているこのイラスト。
「何の絵だろう？」と思われた方も
いらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。

これは、18世紀フランスの『百科全書』に
収められている図版の一つ。

ガラス工房の炉から取り出した
ガラス製品を倉庫へと運ぶ工程を
描いたものです。

実はオリジナルの図版では、
この前工程を描いたイラストが
セットになっています。
それが2枚目の写真。

18世紀は、ベネチアが
ガラスビーズ生産の中心地として
大きな繁栄を迎えた時代。

脈々と受け継がれてきた
ベネチアンガラスの文化を
次の世代へと伝えていくこと。
それが、私たちの大きな使命です💫

You may have noticed this illustration,
also used as our profile icon,
and wondered what it represents.

This is one of the plates
from the 18th-century French Encyclopédie.

It depicts the process of placing glassware
taken from the furnace,
and carrying it to the storage room.

In fact, the original plate
is paired with
another illustration showing
the preceding step.
That is the second image.

It shows the moment
when the glassware is taken out of the furnace,
leading into the transport process.

The 18th century was a golden era for Venice,
flourishing as a center of glass bead production.

To carry forward this tradition—
a culture of Venetian glass
passed down through generations—
is our enduring mission 💫
