FRAME AWARDS 2026｜WINNER OF THE YEAR

We are honored to announce that DAICHI silent river TREE SAUNA has been named Winner of the Year in the Wellness Space category at the FRAME Awards 2026, an internationally recognized design award.

Nestled deep within the forest, TREE SAUNA was built without cutting down the existing trees.

Blurring the boundaries between architecture and nature, it offers a place to reconnect with your senses, surrounded by the sounds, breeze, and light of the forest.

We are truly delighted that our vision of creating a new relationship between people and nature has been recognized on an international stage.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of this project.

TREE SAUNA is open year-round. We invite you to experience the unique sensation of a sauna that seamlessly blends into the forest.

📍

As the air gets cooler, the warmth of a fire feels even more comforting.

After warming up in the sauna, step straight into the pool.
Feel the cool water and crisp autumn air as you slow down and unwind.

In the evening, light the wood stove and spend some time watching the flames.
The stillness outside, the sound of burning wood—
one of the pleasures of staying at DAICHI ISUMI as autumn turns to winter.

DAICHI ISUMI was also used as a filming location for the Netflix series “Downtime,” now streaming on Netflix.
See if you can spot it in the show.

For a morning walk.
For a swim whenever you feel like it.
To watch the sunset,
just step out to the sea right in front of you.

Rather than going out to the sea,
the sea is always close by.

Spend your time in a place where the ocean is simply part of everyday life.

That closeness to the sea is what makes this place special.

Beyond the living room’s expansive window lies a sea that feels like a living painting. The large opening softens the boundary between indoors and out, inviting light, ocean breezes, and the quiet presence of the sea into the space. While adults unwind in the view, children immerse themselves in nature. Each family member enjoys the day in their own way,yet together they become part of the same landscape.

Rather than heading to the sea,
spend time living with it.

Wake to the sound of birds,
watch the sunlight slowly move through the space,
and feel the evening breeze carry away the day’s warmth.

Without filling your schedule,
simply surrender to the rhythm of nature,
and let the day unfold.

The colors and atmosphere of Okinawa,
found only in this season.

TREE SAUNA is a small sauna nestled among the forest, seemingly floating while being supported by the surrounding trees.

We’re honored to share that it has been selected as the Winner of the Month in June at the FRAME Awards.

The two-level structure spans approximately 100 m². Beyond the glass-walled sauna awaits a deep cold plunge where you can fully immerse yourself. From there, stretch out on the deck and experience a moment suspended between architecture and nature—as if you’ve become part of the forest itself.

We hope you’ll experience it for yourself during this beautiful season. 🧖‍♀️🧖‍♂️
