IROS DYEING will be at Kadena Air Base Exchange from August 10–23.

Come experience our naturally hand-dyed pieces up close, and discover the colors, textures, and subtle variations created through each dyeing process.

Each piece is carefully hand-dyed by members of the IROS team, with their own time, care, and thoughts put into every piece. We hope those feelings can reach you when you hold and wear them.

一つひとつ自然の染料を使い、IROSのメンバーそれぞれが時間と手間をかけ、想いを込めて手作業で染め上げています。

Custom soot-dyed T-shirts created for ACRES, a select store in Chatan, Okinawa.

Thank you again, Tanabe-san, for trusting us with this project.

Using natural materials and guided by our own eyes and hands, each piece is carefully dyed one by one, allowing every garment to develop its own unique character and expression.

THE INOUE BROTHERS × IROS DYEING 
Since reconnecting with Satoru of THE INOUE BROTHERS in Okinawa in 2023, we’ve shared many conversations—not only about craftsmanship, but also about our values and the way we choose to approach life and creation. Those conversations have become a source of invaluable inspiration and learning for us.

For this collaboration, Satoru created a wave graphic that embodies the IROS team’s deep connection to nature and the ocean.

Behind every piece of craftsmanship lies the heart and intention of its maker. At IROS, we believe in nurturing relationships through color and creating meaningful connections between people.

Together with those who share these values, we hope to continue building relationships with more people through our hand-dyeing work and keep creating with purpose.

2023年、THE INOUE BROTHERSの聡氏と沖縄で再会して以来、ものづくりだけではなく、 ものごとに向き合う姿勢や価値観について、何度も言葉を交わしてきました。その時間の中で大切な学びを得てきました。 
今回、聡氏には、IROSメンバーが大切にしている自然や海への想いを、一つの波のグラフィックとして描いていただいています。 
ものづくりの背景にある、作り手の想い。 人と人との関係性を、色を通して育む。 
大切にしたい想いを共有できる仲間とともに、手染めを通してより多くの方々と関係を築き。ものづくりを続けていきたいと考えています。

THE INOUE BROTHERS × IROS DYEING 
Before sharing the story behind this collaboration,
we'd first like to introduce the T-shirt itself. 
In 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck the Tohoku region.
Countless textile mills and workshops were damaged, and along with the buildings and equipment, many people lost the work they had spent years building.
For generations, Tohoku has been one of Japan's great manufacturing regions, home to skilled artisans and exceptional craftsmanship.
But after the disaster, not only was production disrupted—orders disappeared as well.
 In the midst of this, brothers Satoru and Kiyoshi Inoue visited the affected region. Just two months after the earthquake, they began working alongside small textile mills to create new opportunities through craftsmanship.
 "TOHOKU PROJECT – MADE IN TOHOKU"
 An initiative dedicated to carrying the skills, livelihoods, and pride of the people behind Japanese craftsmanship into the future.
More than a decade later, that commitment remains unchanged.
The T-shirt used for this collaboration was also created through the "TOHOKU PROJECT – MADE IN TOHOKU."
Through this garment, we hope to share not only the product itself, but also the people, the places, and the stories that continue to live behind it.

今回のコラボレーションについてお話しする前に、
まずは、このTシャツそのものについてご紹介させてください。 
2011年、東日本大震災。
東北では、多くの繊維工場や作業場が被災し、設備だけでなく、それまで積み重ねてきた仕事までもが失われました。
東北は、古くから日本のものづくりを支えてきた地域です。
高い技術を持つ工場や職人が数多く存在していましたが、震災によって、生産だけでなく受注までもが途絶えてしまいました。
 そんな中、THE INOUE BROTHERSの兄・聡氏と弟・清史氏は被災地を訪れ、震災から2か月後には、小さな繊維工場とともに新たなものづくりを始めます。
 『TOHOKU PROJECT』 – MADE IN TOHOKU 
ものづくりを支えてきた人たちの技術、仕事、そして誇りを未来へつないでいくための取り組み。
十年以上が経った今も、その想いは変わることなく受け継がれています。
今回のコラボレーションで使用しているTシャツも、この『TOHOKU PROJECT – MADE IN TOHOKU』から生まれた一着です。
私たちは、この製品を通して、その背景にある人や土地、そして受け継がれてきた物語ごと、大切に届けたいと考えています。

Inspired by Japan’s cherry blossoms, it represents the beauty and fragility of life, while reminding us that no matter where we are planted, we all can grow.

日本の桜から着想を得て生まれたこの花には、命の儚さと美しさ、そして「どんな環境にいても、人は成長できる」という想いが込められています。

一日だけでは成長は生まれない。
時間を重ね、変化を受け入れ、その積み重ねが一つの表情になっていく。
そんなメッセージを、Bandyはこの花に込めてくれました。
