HOW TO IDENTIFY HIP STRUCTURE BEFORE DRAFTING

Before drafting any trouser or skirt, check this first 👇

Take two measurements:
>Waist
>Hip

Now calculate the difference.
Example 1:
Waist: 37
Hip: 41
Difference = 4 inches
Curvy structure

Example 2:
Waist: 41
Hip: 41
Difference = 0
Rectangular structure

Simple Guide

Small difference (0–2") → Rectangular body
Medium difference (3–4") → Slight curve
Large difference (5"+) → Curvy body

Why is this important?

Because body structure affects:

• Dart intake
• Waist shaping
• Hip allowance
• Trouser balance
