Consequently the toxins from plastics enter the food chain and threaten not just animal but human health! ⁣

We have some great Monday conservation news for you! No rhinos were killed from poaching in Kenya in 2020. There was also an 11% increase in rhino numbers within the country from 2019 to 2020!

Despite predictions that the COVID-19 pandemic would lead to a surge in wildlife poaching as tourism money used to pay wildlife rangers plummeted, precautions put in place by the (KWS) and allies like maintained the safety of these animals, which are prized for their horns 🦏⁣

Very few rhinos survive outside national parks and reserves due to persistent poaching and habitat loss over many decades. Three species of rhino—black, Javan, and Sumatran—are critically endangered.
