Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion exhibition explores the intersection of Korean heritage and digital innovation. Inspired by Hangul typography and Munjado art, this research project transforms the symbolic words 꽃 (꽃) and 길 (path) into sculptural fashion.
This collaborative research project blends traditional craftsmanship with advanced digital fabrication. Through this fusion, the exhibition presents a new vision for contemporary fashion, celebrating the beauty and symbolism of Hangeul.

Opening next week at KCDF Gallery in Seoul, Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion is a research project by professor and designer Rick Lee, Creative Director of RICK RHE.
Developed through a research collaboration between Korea and Italy, the project explores how technology can expand creativity and craftsmanship through cultural identity, advanced fabrication, sustainable materials, and experimental design.

Building on 2024 collaboration with Stratasys which introduced South Korea’s first PolyJet 3D-printed fashion project using multicolour and multi-material printing directly on fabric and leather. The exhibition presents a capsule collection that transforms the Korean writing system, Hangeul, into digital fabrication. At its heart is the message of kkotgil (꽃길), meaning “a path of flowers” and symbolising hope, beauty, and a positive journey ahead.

Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion

The exhibition explores the convergence of Hangeul’s visual beauty, traditional Korean culture, and contemporary digital fabrication.
Inspired by Hangeul typography and Korean Munjado, designer Rick Lee combines the symbolic forms of kkot (꽃, “flower”) and gil (길, “path”) with floral imagery. Through PolyJet 3D printing, machine embroidery, flocking, and digital textile printing, Hangeul is transformed into tactile surfaces, sculptural details, and wearable forms.

Centered on the concept of Hybrid Digital Craft, the exhibition presents technology as a creative tool that extends human craftsmanship and reinterprets the cultural and sculptural qualities of Hangeul in contemporary fashion.

Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion
