“𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕 – 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈.”
This design is inspired by a combination of Native American culture and Sri Lankan Dumbara Paduru weaving. The design brings together the strong geometric patterns and earthy colours inspired by Native American art with the traditional woven textures and repeating motifs of Dumbara mats.
The geometric shapes and symbolic patterns represent Native American craftsmanship, while the woven surface, structured patterns, and natural materials reflect the heritage of Dumbara Paduru. The combination creates a contemporary outfit that connects two different cultures through pattern, texture, colour, and traditional craftsmanship.
