Starting a business has taught me so much! Not only about entrepreneurship, but also about myself. After 5 years of building SUSU, these are some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way. 🤍

Overthinking and perfectionism as a business owner are REAL. Sometimes I have to remind myself that not everything needs to be perfect.

Multiple times I’ve tried to guess which colour or pattern would be everyone’s favourite for a product… and I’ve been completely wrong. It’s a good reminder that everyone has different tastes.

At the end of 2025, our Instagram account was unexpectedly suspended, and we had to rebuild our community from scratch. It was heartbreaking after years of hard work, but it reminded me that setbacks are part of every journey. What matters most is getting back up and keeping going.

No matter how hard you try, not everyone will understand or appreciate your work and that’s okay. Take the feedback (good or bad), learn from it, and move on!

Even when I’m not physically working, my mind is constantly thinking and planning. I’ve learned that I have to force myself to switch off and make time for rest, family, hobbies, and just regular everyday life.
