Georgia Hall and Charley Hull have been selected to represent Great Britain in the women's golf competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Hull featured at the 2016 edition in Rio de Janeiro, finishing in a tie for seventh, while Hall will make her debut at the Games.

World number eight Hull, 28, made history when she became the youngest player to compete in the Solheim Cup, aged 17 in 2013.

Hall, also 28, enjoyed the biggest moment of her individual career in 2018 when she became a major champion after winning the Women's British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

World number one Nelly Korda says she has been bitten by a dog and will miss the Aramco Team Series event in Hemel Hempstead next week.

The American golfer, 25, was set to defend her title at the Centurion Club, an event which is part of the Ladies European Tour.

"On Saturday in Seattle, I was bitten by a dog and need time to receive treatment and recover fully," Korda wrote on social media.

"I apologise to the LET, the sponsors and my fans for my absence. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to returning to the course soon."

Essentially, as the Earth rotates, the gravity of the Moon orbiting above tugs on the oceans to create high and low tides. These tides in fact are a "bulge" of water that extends in an elliptical shape both towards and away from the gravity of the Moon. But the Earth spins on its axis much faster than the Moon orbits above, meaning friction from the ocean basins moving beneath also acts to drag the water along with it. This means the bulge moves slightly ahead of the Moon in its orbit, which attempts to pull it backwards. This slowly saps our planet's rotational energy, slowing its spin while the Moon gains energy, causing it to move into a higher orbit.

Its gentle gravitational tug sets the rhythm of the tides, while its pale light illuminates the nocturnal nuptials of many species. Michael Dunlop has become the most successful rider in the history of the Isle of Man TT by winning Wednesday's Supertwins race.

The Northern Irishman claimed a record 27th triumph on his Paton machine to move one clear of his legendary uncle Joey in terms of race victories.

Award-winning singer Dua Lipa thrilled fans at the Hay Festival on Sunday as she spoke candidly about how "persistence" had brought her success.
"From a young age, I had the dream to be a pop star but it never seemed like something that was actually possible," she told the audience.
Having moved between her parents' native Kosovo and London as a child, she said her adaptability had helped.
"I've been a new girl all my life," she told the renowned literary festival.
Her audience were a mixed bunch, but there was a sizeable number of patient parents queuing up at the humid Baillie Gifford stage with teenage daughters who were scrolling through Dua's Instagram feed as they waited to be seated.
