This happened close to midnight just before our flight out from the Marshall Islands 🙈🥰 - some of the women from the training at CMI surprised me outside our house, bearing gifts - handmade by them!

Somehow our flight got postponed by a day, so we managed to squeeze time for potluck lunch together, where they sang and danced for me too.
God willing, we will meet again!

I believe the nature of love is to make one feel overwhelmed (in the best way); I couldn’t find words to articulate what I felt that moment, and still - I’m just grateful, for love, God’s love, and His grace.

Whatever I’ve been able to do is by His grace and favor alone…alone, I’m telling you.
I just wanna encourage you to trust Him and follow Him, even if you feel reluctant initially; His eventual peace that passes all understanding is how He leads.
Only with His peace, the unknown becomes exciting, and something you understand the weight of in the spiritual realm, through His Holy Spirit.

Obedience to God ALWAYS bears good fruit that lasts; you often get more than what you ask for or imagine - My life bears witness of that in this case.
God knows those who take refuge in Him (regarding anything), and He never disappoints.

I will hold the memory of these past 6 weeks very close to my heart ❤️
Jerammon likatutus - my women trainees and UB 9th graders!
Love you all and thank you for all the love you've shown me as well.

Sharing my heart/speech in writing:
"I know God brought me here to RMI with a specific purpose, and this was one of them. I give Him all the glory. If you haven't yet heard how this training came to be, the story was shared by The RMI Journal last week.
Long story short, it was God's idea and I am very grateful to Ms. Rigieta, Dustin and CMI team for facilitating this training from start to end.
Over the course of these 5 weeks, I've seen much growth in all the trainees, not just vocationally but also in our bonding, hospitality and spiritually.
It gives me so much joy to know it won't end here as they have ideas to take this further together.
I assure you, whatever support you can offer them, hereafter, won't be fruitless either.

Now to you, wonderful ladies,
I pray that we will continue to encourage each other in the things of the Lord and keep praying for one another, for in Him lies our strength, wisdom and help.
God is glorified when there's unity in His body, His church and it's only the Holy Spirit who can help us with that.
I believe He will continue to fill you with ideas and provide all the resources; His vision always comes with His provision. As you discuss the vision and mission statements of the club, seek Him, He will reveal His heart to you.

Weeks 3-4 with the ladies were all about hand-embroidery!

After being taught the basic stitches, they were asked to be creative with a minimum of 5 stitches in each of their designs.

One of their pieces is inspired by the same theme from Weeks 1-2, and the other piece(s) were chosen at random, which appealed to them.

Five different paper bead techniques were learnt during this session to add to the Jewelry-making component of this training!

Discarded magazines were used to create these, once again, sticking to their individual themes, but also combinations using other materials were incorporated too.

Some gorgeous pieces came out from the ladies!

The women spent a few days learning various ways to “tame” and use their plastic, experimenting with their creations based on their individual themes, even using other decorative materials to support.

I asked some of them to try and incorporate their Marshallese handicraft knowledge into this new skill too! I believe everyone learnt a lot; having their horizons broadened.

I loved seeing the various pieces; some I ideated, and others they came up with! We’ve made much progress together! All glory to God.

The women learnt 4 different techniques to make ribbon flowers.

Some combined them, others added the use of other materials, like beads, feathers, etc. to enhance them.
They will be used in various accessories and jewelry pieces, and perhaps even in their embroidery pieces as surface ornamentation!
