Open to artists from all disciplines.

Participation formats: exhibition (3 days), performance/show, participatory workshop (max 3h), screening/film (max 1h).

Entry themes (free interpretation): sensitive architectures, digital sensing, geo-sensitive approaches, knowledge and skills, arts and island ambiances 🌴

CEDTI International Colloquium – Edition #3 • 17–19 November 2026

This colloquium focuses on how ambiances mediate the relationship between humans and their environment—through light, wind, sound, materials, and lived experience. It invites researchers, practitioners, and doctoral students working at the intersection of architecture, geography, digital sensing, and the arts to contribute.

CEDTI brings together a cross-regional network to explore these questions from coastal and island perspectives.

Over three days, the 2025: Living on the Edge: Coastal Transitions in the Indian Ocean brought together participants from across the world to rethink how we live, work and build along coastlines in a time of rising seas and accelerating change.

🌊 During Lakot Sanze at the Soirée, two visionary proposals for coastal life in Mauritius in 2050 were highlighted. The Bel Ombre 2050 Design Challenge invited participants to rethink the future of the village in the context of coastal erosion, rising sea levels, and flooding.

We warmly congratulate our two winners:
🏆 Architect Nic Paturau, recipient of the Grand Jury Prize, who will be awarded a trip to Nairobi for the first in 2026.
🏆 Architecture Graduate Lekhansh Jeewon, winner of the Public’s Choice Award.

Their proposals demonstrate how design can create space for new possibilities and help communities and citizens envision the future of coastal landscapes.

👏 A sincere thank you to all participants architects, designers, Kolos Cement Ltd, urbanists, and partners who contributed to this challenge, and to our Jury for their thoughtful evaluation and commitment throughout the process.

🌍 Au CEDTI, nous sommes ravis de collaborer avec Institut français de Maurice pour nourrir la conversation sur la manière dont l’intelligence artificielle peut façonner l’avenir de notre île.
