It's time to welcome you once again to my childhood home 🧡

Thrift ix-Xlokk has become by far my favourite event (not solely because im the one organsing it) - but because I get to share one of my favourite places with you. I grew up in the garden. It's a place of memories - from playing with my cousins as kids to celebrating birthdays, graduations and everything in between! It's always been a peaceful space & after the success of the last two events I was super excited to host the third edition!

Sooo whether this is your first time hearing about Thrift ix-Xlokk or you’ve been with us since the start, you are invited to join us for the chillest thrift event in the south - where you can meet new people, have a beer in the garden and find yourself some goodies from local artists or uncover some clothing treasure. 🌿

As always apart from the curated thrift/vintage clothing there will be a separate section of secondhand clothes available for a donation, with all proceeds going to Dar Hosea.

The second edition of Thrift ix-Xlokk is here! 🐟

After the last one being a great success, we decided to host another one - this time hosting different vendors to provide you with a wider selection of items. Think handmade jewellery made locally, vintage clothing and plants. 🌱👗

So grab a beer (or cocktail) from a local bar, and come down to our beautiful garden where you can slow down and shop consciously ♻️🌻

Sales from a selection of donated clothing will once again be going towards the NGO .mt.

It feels so special to source pieces made here, and being able to give them a new life. They're not just clothes - it's like wearing a piece of history.

Random facts about Malta's Textile Industry:

🧵Back in the 70's Malta's textile industry made up nearly 40% of the GDP, but in the early 2000's due to labour costs, factories had to move to other countries such as Bangladesh, leaving Maltese workers jobless.

🧵Brands such as Wranglers, Levi's & Crochetta were made here.

🧵Malta was known to produce and export the best quality cotton in the late Medieval period, with some of the profit going towards the upkeep of Mdina's walls.

Think sun, coolest vintage pieces, handmade items & lot & lots of plants!🌱

I have been dreaming about this for toooo long, and finally managed to find the right time to make it happen ✨ So join us for this gathering in our peaceful garden and let nature guide you towards your next favorite vintage piece 👜

Once again a percentage of sales from plants & a section of clothing will go towards .mt, an NGO which provides shelter and care for women in prostitution and victims of sexual exploitation.

ps. there will be a cute surprise 🤫
