CSR Initiative 2026: Giving Back with Purpose
At RT Knits, we support the communities and organisations that work every day to create positive changes.
As part of our CSR commitment, we were pleased to support several local organisations whose missions reflect care, inclusion, environmental protection, and social responsibility.
Through this contribution, we aim to encourage the impactful work being carried out in areas such as environmental awareness, support for vulnerable groups, health, rehabilitation, child welfare, and community development.
We sincerely thank all beneficiary organisations for their dedication and for the meaningful difference they continue to make in Mauritius.

We had the pleasure of welcoming First Year Business Management students from Middlesex University for their very first exposure to the textile manufacturing industry.

The visit was a meaningful opportunity to introduce them to the practical side of business operations and demonstrate how different departments work together to support the overall manufacturing process.

Industry visits play an important role in bridging the gap between academic learning and real workplace experience. They also help students better understand the skills, discipline, teamwork, coordination, and adaptability required in a manufacturing environment.

We are pleased to have contributed to their learning journey and to support young talents as they explore the world of work and gain a broader understanding of industry practices.

Welcoming Young Learners from Fond du Sac Government School

We were delighted to welcome the Grade 4, 5 and 6 students of Fond du Sac Government School for an educational visit to our facilities.

This visit formed part of our ongoing commitment to inspire young minds and introduce students to the exciting world of the textile and manufacturing industry.

During the tour, the students had the opportunity to:

Discover how textile products are made — from yarn to fabric, and from fabric to ready-made garments
Understand how creativity, technology, teamwork and sustainability come together in a modern manufacturing environment

Educational visits like these help students connect classroom learning with real-life applications. They also give young learners a glimpse into the many career opportunities available in fields such as design, production, engineering, IT, sustainability, administration, marketing and operations.

At RT Knits, we believe that every talent has a place in the textile industry, and that early exposure can spark curiosity, creativity and ambition in the next generation.

Today, on World Environment Day, we join the global community in reflecting on this year's theme: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."

As businesses grow, emissions can grow alongside them unless deliberate action is taken. Decoupling growth from greenhouse gas emissions has become one of the defining challenges of
our time. The need for climate action is clear, and the pace at which we act today will shape the future we leave for generations to come.

At RT Knits, sustainability has never been a side initiative—it is embedded in our vision and in the way we do business.

We have committed to drastically reducing our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, with the ambition of achieving net-zero emissions.

Earlier this year, we marked a major milestone in this journey with the inauguration of our new photovoltaic (PV) farm, capable of supplying up to 100% of our electricity requirements.
Electricity has historically accounted for approximately 50% of our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, making this investment a significant step towards decarbonising our operations.

This achievement reflects our commitment to Accelerating the Transition Towards Sustainable Clothing and demonstrates how environmental responsibility can be translated into concrete action.

Our journey does not stop here. New initiatives are already underway to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels across our production activities, further advancing our climate objectives and strengthening the resilience of our operations.

On this World Environment Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more sustainable future through meaningful action, innovation, and responsible growth. World Environment Day is also an opportunity to reflect on the collective actions needed to address climate change.

Learning goes beyond the classroom.

We were delighted to welcome students from MITD – Fashion Design and Apparel Making to RT Knits for an insightful industrial visit.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to our pattern drafting and 3D technologies, highlighting how pattern engineering extends far beyond garment construction. During the session, we shared how pattern drafting also plays a key role in automation template design and precise embellishment positioning.

Students also had the opportunity to tour our factory, where they explored our production capabilities and advanced equipment, gaining a closer look at how innovation and craftsmanship come together in a modern manufacturing environment.
