Socks with sandals used to be a style rule nobody dared to break. With woven leather huaraches, it might be the easiest fall look you'll put together this season.

The trick is choosing the right sock. A semi-sheer one with a small detail, like pearls or a bit of embroidery, lets the weave do what it does best: show just enough of what's underneath. The metallic tones of the leather pick up the light, the sock adds texture, and the pair you wore all summer suddenly feels made for cooler days.

Nothing new to buy, just a new way to wear what's already by your door.

Would you try it, or are you already a socks-and-huaraches person? 👇

Handmade in Mexico. Ships worldwide.

When Woman & Home wrote about huaraches as the shoe trend that never really ends, they included Macarena Collection among their picks, and we were very happy to see it.

What made us happiest, though, is that it matches what our customers tell us every week: that they wear their pair for years, not a season, and that it keeps fitting better with time.

Swipe to read what they say in their own words.

Thank you to everyone who writes to us after months of wear. Those messages are the best part of this work.

A new pair of huaraches is supposed to feel snug, and here's why that's a good sign.

The weave is shaped firmly on purpose. With wear, the leather relaxes exactly where your foot bends and presses, so the pair ends up fitting your foot rather than a generic one. If it felt loose on day one, it would feel sloppy a month later.

Here's how we'd break them in: a few hours at home during the first days (socks are welcome), short walks during the first week, longer days in week two, and by weeks three and four they should feel like they've always been yours.

If something still pinches in the same spot after two weeks, send us a DM with the model and your measurement and we'll look at it together.

Every model is woven over its own last, so check the size chart on the page of the model you want.

We’d rather show you how our huaraches handle real life than promise they’re perfect.

So we took one pair through the kind of day usually brings: dry sidewalks, sand, fallen leaves and a wet floor after the rain.

And yes, the leather got wet. Genuine leather darkens when it’s damp, and that’s completely normal. What matters is what you do next: blot the water, fill the pair with paper so it holds its shape, and let it dry slowly in the shade, away from heaters and direct sun. Once it’s dry, a little leather conditioner brings back the softness.

With that small bit of care, a wet day doesn’t ruin a good pair. It becomes part of its story.

Leather that’s cared for lasts for years, and that’s exactly how we make ours.

Before huaraches were a summer trend, they were a word, a craft and, for many people, a source of pride.

The word comes from kwarachi, in the Purépecha language of Michoacán. Early huaraches were made entirely of leather and woven by hand in farming communities across Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato and Yucatán. Around the 1930s, artisans began cutting soles from recycled car tires, giving us the huarache many people know today.

In the 1960s they crossed the border with surfers and travelers. For Chicano communities, they became something more meaningful, a way of wearing your roots openly.

We close Hispanic Heritage Month the way we work every day, by making them by hand in Mexico and telling their story properly.

"Handmade" is printed on a lot of labels, so we'd rather show you what it means on ours.

It starts before anything is woven, when the leather is chosen and cut. Every hide has thicker and thinner areas, and deciding which part becomes which strap is a judgment call that no pattern makes for you.

Then comes the weave, shaped by hand over a last so each pair takes the form of a real foot. The tension of every strap is adjusted as it goes, which is why the pair feels snug at first and relaxes into your shape with wear.

What handmade doesn't promise is two identical pairs. Small differences in tone and texture come from the leather itself, and they're a sign of a real material rather than a defect.

Swipe through and tell us which step surprised you most.

Huaraches have become popular all over the world, which also means a lot of huarache-style sandals are now made in many different countries.

There's nothing wrong with that, it's simply a different product. But if having a pair actually made in Mexico matters to you, it helps to know where to look.

Words like "inspired by" or "huarache-style" describe a design, not a place. The country of manufacture is usually on the label or in the product details. A brand that works directly with a workshop can normally tell you where and how its pairs are made. And a hand-woven pair shows tiny variations from strap to strap, the mark of hands at work.

Ours are made by hand in Mexico, and we're always happy to tell you more about how they're made.

October changes its mind three times before lunch, and your shoes should be able to keep up.
A cold morning calls for ribbed socks under a closed huarache. By noon you're at your desk in jeans and a knit, and nobody is thinking about your feet, least of all you. Then Saturday brings one last warm afternoon, the socks come off and the same pair heads to the market as if it were still July.

Hand-woven leather breathes when it's warm and layers easily when it isn't, which is why the pair you bought for summer doesn't need to go into storage.

Which October day are you wearing yours on first?

Something new just arrived for fall, and we couldn’t wait to open the box. Meet Corazón.

Corazón is a closed huarache woven by hand in soft suede. It has the same weave you already love from our classic styles, with a warmer, softer feel made for cooler days. The closed toe keeps you comfortable when the mornings turn crisp, and the suede gives it a cozy texture that feels right from the first step.

It comes in three n**e tones, that blend easily with everything already in your fall wardrobe, from denim and knits to a long coat. Wear them bare on milder afternoons or with a soft sock when the temperature drops.

In Spanish, “corazón” means heart, and every pair is made with exactly that: care, patience and hands that know the craft. Handmade in Mexico.

Suede care tip: keep Corazón away from heavy rain and brush it gently with a suede brush to keep its texture looking its best.

Which tone is calling your name? 👇
