Macavuana was inspired by basket weaving traditions, at craft that dates back at least 10,000 - 12,000 years. For this photo series we wanted to incorporate as many palm woven elements as possible. Constanza is weaving a petate, a palm woven rug that we fashioned into a skirt, a palm crown, and our palm woven sandals.
