Dewan Perniagaan dan Perindustrian Kaum India Malaysia Pulau Pinang (MICCI) hari ini telah mengadakan kunjungan hormat ke Seri Mutiara, diketuai oleh Presidennya, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ S. Parthiban.

Dengan sejarah panjang melebihi 102 tahun, MICCI telah membentangkan peranannya dalam mewakili pelbagai sektor industri, di samping komitmen berterusan dalam membangunkan kepimpinan, membimbing dan memperkasa usahawan muda melalui peluang, pendedahan dan bimbingan yang berstruktur.

MICCI juga aktif menyokong usahawan mikro kaum India melalui pelbagai inisiatif dan program bantuan perniagaan, serta menggalakkan perkongsian ilmu dan jaringan perniagaan di peringkat tempatan dan antarabangsa. We are pleased to announce that our Chamber has successfully organised our annual CSR program where 150 Deepavali of Food Baskets have been given to underprivileged families. The event was officiated by our Honorary Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow. YB. A. Kumaresan ,MIC Penang Chairman Datuk J.Dhinagaran, Chambers President Dato' S. Parthiban, VP Dato' G. Mariadas, Treasurer Mr. P. Krishnan, Asst. Secretary Mr. R. Asok Kumar and a few committee members were present during the event. Dato' Seri Ramanathan, Dato' Asok Kumar, Dato' Alargasamy and a few members of the chamber also have attended the event.

A courtesy visit was made yesterday 14/8/2025 Thursday by our President Dato’ S. Partiban, VP Dato' Mariadas, Treasurer Mr. Krishnan, Asst. Secretary Mr. Asok Kumar and few committee members of MICCI to YB Jason H'ng Mooi Lye, Local Government and Town & County Planning EXCO Also present during the meeting is Dato' Asok Kumar from Umayal Textile,
Dato' Vasantharajan and Dato' Yuvabalan.

Discussion Points:
1. Presentation of proposed for Deepavali decorative lights along Penang Street.
2. Review of technical requirements including power supply points, wiring layout, and safety compliance.
3. Timeline for installation and testing before the festive season.
4. Coordination with contractors and local businesses to minimise disruption.
5. Proposal to seek sponsorship from traders and business owners in the Penang Street area to support project costs.

Decisions / Action Items:
1. Final planing and drawings to be prepared for YB Jason H’ng’s review and approval.
2. Secretary to prepare and send an official letter to YB Jason H’ng outlining the Deepavali light project and technical details for approval.
3. Contractor to prepare cost estimates and technical specifications .
4. Committee to approach local traders for sponsorship and contributions towards the project.
5. Final meeting with all persons-in-charge (PIC) to be held soon to finalise and approve the full plan before installation.

Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Penang.
Meeting was made on 8/8/2025 Friday, led by President Dato’ Partiban, Dato' Mariadas, Mr. Asok Kumar and few committee members of the Penang Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Mayor of Penang (MBPP), Dato' Rajendran to discuss collaborative efforts for the upcoming Deepavali celebration.
A key focus of the discussion was the installation of decorative lights at Little India, with the light structures contributed by the Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association (LISHA). This initiative aims to enhance the festive atmosphere and promote cultural vibrancy and tourism in the area.
The President conveyed that the target is to complete the installation before Deepavali. The contractor will be arranged by MICCI, while the installation work will be supervised by MBPP engineers to ensure safety and adherence to city standards.
Dato’ Yuvabalan, Ms. Shangkari, and Mr. Veloo will coordinate closely with MBPP to finalise the proposed locations and layout plans, based on the advice and recommendations from Dato’ Partiban and the committee members.
The Mayor expressed his full support for the initiative and welcomed continued collaboration to strengthen cultural celebrations and enhance community engagement in Penang.
Upon the meeting, the MBPP officers came and inspected the Deepavali Lighting which was kept.

Dhinagaran, Chairman of MIC Penang, regarding the claim that “Mitra Promised Support to Small Penang Businesses But Has Yet to Deliver On Its Commitment,” the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Penang (MICCI) wishes to clarify that this statement was made without the knowledge and involvement of MICCI Penang.

As an organization dedicated to facilitate and support members of businesses in this state, we emphasize that any parties wishing to make statements involving MICCI Penang, should first consult with us to avoid any confusion among the public.
