Hemming raw denim before the first wash is always a gamble.

As tailors, we can advise — but in the end, the denim decides.

This pair lost almost 3 inches after its first wash.

The takeaway:
Regular washers should always wash before hemming.
Once-a-year washers can usually hem straight before wash.
