Every collection has a beginning.

For Santai!, that beginning could only be one place.

Hulu Langat isn’t the most famous destination in Malaysia. It doesn’t compete with towering skylines or iconic landmarks. Yet, for me, it has always been enough.

This is where I grew up. Where weekends were spent by rivers, where hills became playgrounds, and where nature quietly became part of everyday life. Looking back, I realised these places shaped not only my memories, but also the way I see home.

When I created Santai!, I wanted our first chapter to honour the place that raised me. Not because it’s the most visited, but because it’s meaningful.

Hu.La is my way of saying that every hometown has a story worth telling.

I hope this collection reminds you of your own.

Wherever home may be.
