A customer still happy using her bracelet for a very long time. At the time, she bought it for RM 200 ++. Using it for 16 years. Now, she found us to get a new one. Instead of one, she got some for her family since it is much cheaper now.

Reproduction or Emporium type Sukajan
You can click the link below to view or buy one from an international platform
p.s. we haven't bought from them yet (koisea), but we do have sold some reproduction Sukajan before. The picture we posted was ours, a single sided Blue Koi Sukajan, almost the same design as one of the reversible Sukajan they (koisea) have in their website below:
https://koisea.com/

Hi guys!

Today we are going to discuss a little regarding this type of Sukajan.

Some would call it a reproduction, some would call it a copy and even some would brand it as an Emporium type Sukajan.

Why?
Because most of the time it is made using a copy from some original branded Sukajan, or their motifs are just basic birds, koi and flowers design, and using a cheaper type of material for the jackets and just simple and basic embroidery on it.

Does it have value? Is it good to collect? Is it beautiful to wear?

Value of an item is actually depends, whether to its personal user or from the prespective of Sukajan collectors.

Value of a Sukajan will depend on its age, condition, motif, type of material used and quite important too the depth, size, colors and how refine is the embroidery.

How value is defined by age, we have discussed it on our previous posting. For a Sukajan with the same design, to be produced in a large amount, i.e. 1000 pieces, it doesn't have much value as you can have a thousand people wearing it at the same time. Although there is still value to its design and the details that they put in the embroidery.

You can even look at Sukajan as a tattoo art. You won't enjoy your tattoo so much if you can see many others are having the exact same tattoo as you!

If you would like to collect this type of Sukajan, it is a good starter Sukajan to collect. This type of Sukajan is normally made from polyester which are easier to care for. There are some made from PVC which we won't recommend as PVC doesn't do well with age. As you develop more interest, knowledge and love for Sukajan, this Reproduction/Emporium/Copy Sukajan won't excite you as much as you first got it. But, be grateful to it, as this is the Sukajan that open a new door to the Exciting WORLD of Sukajan for you!

Beautiful to wear?
Yes it is! It doesn't matter whether it is a vintage Sukajan or an Emporium Sukajan, it is beautiful to wear. You won't be criticised for wearing a copy ones because the general public doesn't even know about Sukajan! They will adore and be amazed by the beautiful arts embroidered on your jackets.
Just try not to wear them at any Vintage Sukajan gathering!

Conclusion
We do support this type of Sukajan. It is a good starter Sukajan jacket, especially for those who doesn't appreciate used clothing. It will eventually bring in more new lovers which in time will turn some of these new lovers into collectors as well.

'The more the merrier', but from our prespective, the more collectors for a type of collection, the more value it will bring to that collection!

Thank you guys! See you again on our next mumbling and rumbling!

Definition of Vintage, Artifact and Grail in Apparel

Everyone has their own interpretation of vintage. It maybe due to their understanding of what vintage is throughout their region, within a group or even on selected type of apparel.

But what commonly understood is that any apparel which is more than 20 years and less than 100 years are considered to be vintage and if they are over 100 years, are considered to be ANTIQUE.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vintage_clothing #:~:text=8%20References-,Definitions,of%20the%20era%20they%20represent.

Grail?
According to the English dictionary, grail is a noun that is defined as any greatly desired or sought-after object. When you think of the term “grail” in a fashion sense, labels and brands such as Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Gucci, and Saint Laurent all come to mind.
https://www.themanual.com/fashion/grailed-holy-grail-designer-marketplaces/ #:~:text=According%20to%20the%20English%20dictionary,Laurent%20all%20come%20to%20mind.

Why does vintage apparel has values?
Apparel is not made to last a life time. If you do think about it, they are made to last for only 5 to 10 years. Depends how a person use it, it might last for even 20 years.
Fabrics are normally eaten by time. Moisture, bugs, cockroach, sunlight and many other things are enemies to the fabrics.

To last more than 20 years, an apparel have to actually pass the test of time, been through many adventures with a single owner, or even multiple owners. Even keeping it safe in a closet can't guarantee its safety and survival.

Understanding the 'Invincibility' of Vintage Spirits.

Have you guys ever watch a Jet Li movie entitled 'The One'. It is kind of the same.

When an item is produced in a quantity of 1000 pieces. Just imagine there is One Spirit that comes together in its creation, which is then broken into 1000 units.
The strong and the pure from the many, will eventually passed the test of time. Imagine, like the movie, whatever energy from the ones which had passed away, is absorbed by the ones who survived. In the end, the last surviving item, would have absorbed all the 999 experiences, journey and energies.

Have you ever wonder how some antiques could survive the harsh journey through time? Can one of the explanation be that they have strong energy or spirit which protects them?

If we would guess, an artifact might even have a powerful enough energy to be a portal and could bring its owner to another journey/reality in life. Maybe that is one reason why these artifacts or antiques are highly sought after by collectors. (We watch too much movies and played too many games)

How we at Artsy Hut Vintage & Collectible defined Vintage, Artifact and Grail?
We actually have the same definition as above.
But, as we are also more involved in Sukajan, there was an era where the Sukajan was just invented. Between the late 1940's until the late 1960's.
During that moment, the Sukajan doesn't have much value and the price was cheap. Thus, the survival rate of these era of Sukajan is almost impossible.
To survive after almost 80 years of journey, which most of the duration is considered to be a rough and tough era, between the 50's until 90's. it is considered to be Super Rare. And because of their rarity, these 50's to 60's Sukajan are a highly sought after Sukajan and they deserve to be labelled as the Grail of Sukajan!

We can even go a step further and call these 50's and 60's Sukajan as Artifacts because they are the actual walking proof in Apparel Industry, when TWO different cultures meet and becomes One, or when TWO different characters in fashion from two different World, unite as One in fashion.

That is all from us. Hope what we share from our understanding can give a clearer perspective on how we define our 'Used Clothing' and how we see others as well.

Thank you all! Cheers!
