There is inequality in vision loss due to gender. There are more females than males with vision loss in every category of vision impairment and blindness.
There are several reasons why females experience higher rates and a higher overall burden of vision loss. The average life expectancy of women is longer than for men and many eye conditions are associated with increasing age.
Women can also be at greater risk for certain eye conditions. Also, in many countries many women have less access to eye health services due to various socio-economic and cultural factors.
Lastly, it is almost impossible for girls that are blind or significantly vision impaired to access education in some parts of the world.

In 2015, the World Health Organization reported that at least 1.8 billion people worldwide had Presbyopia. This eyesight problem affects people who have always worn glasses and also people who have always had perfect vision alike.
Therefore, if you need to hold your smartphone further away from your face in order to focus, do not worry as progressive lens will help you see both near and far-away objects more clearly again.
