Meet Our Mentor-Judge!

Omoye Abulimen, is a footwear designer and CEO, of Dé Chayil Shoes (Nigeria). She is devoted to keeping her hands dirty for your feet to look clean, in other words, She is a passionate cobbler. She designs and makes footwears for the love, fun and funds of it. Deciding to switch things up, beyond the basics and also making the Nigerian dream come true of manufacturing local products with international standards. She graduated from Bells University with a BSC degree in Human Resources Management. She is determined to create value, not just for herself but to the Nigerian Economy and different individual shoe stories across the world. Hence she came up with Dé Chayil Shoes. As a young lady at 23, she was told she couldn't make it several times and the doubts that surrounded her would have been enough to ditch this dream, but with passion and focus, she can beautifully say there are over 2,000 Dé Chayil walking stars around the world. She says "It's been a journey, with so many lessons and blessings."

Interesting things I learned about Brazil today:

1. Brazil is 8 times bigger than Nigeria!

2. Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world both on population and area.

3. Brazilian prisoners are allowed to reduce their sentence by four days for every book that they read.

4. Brazil has more animals and plant species than any country in the world.

5. Brazil has been the largest producer of coffee for the last 150 years.

Thank you so much Ambassador Ronaldo Lima for the warm reception and the education I got today🙏

You are an amazing person and I celebrate you.

Reposted from .creations Textiles thrown into the landfills have become a big global problem. Natural fibers take years to decompose, whereas man-made fibers do not decompose. Woolen clothes do decompose, but release methane and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This contributes towards global warming. Synthetic fabrics in the landfill release nitrous oxide which is a powerful greenhouse gas. Besides, toxic substances pollute groundwater and surrounding soil.

Recycling and reusing textiles, fibres and waste materials is an effective method to build sustainability in the apparel industry.

It is our collective duty to do the little we can to encourage eco friendly fashion in other to protect our environment.

Join our fabric Weaving class to learn different techniques you can use to convert fashion waste to something functional and beautiful.
