STRUCTURING FOR INCREASE

Years ago, I had a conversation with an older man who told me he doesn’t use an ATM card. I asked, “How is that even possible?” He smiled and said, “I plan my finances. Most ATM withdrawals are for things I didn’t budget for. I’ve trained myself to say no to those, and I only spend on real emergencies.” That answer stuck with me.

Friend, you need to structure for increase. Wealth is not an accident. There are rules. There are habits. Your financial habits are what determine your financial future. They are the structure that helps you carry the weight of God’s blessings when they come (Isaiah 54:1-3).

While you are praying for financial increase, also build the right structures (2 Kings 4:6). Fragments stay useless until they are gathered. The moment they are put together, they become enough (John 6:12-13). You should have a “fragments account” for the little extras that come in.

What do you do with unexpected income? (Luke 5:6). Don’t upgrade your lifestyle overnight. Don’t fall into impulse buying. Have a financial plan and a personal money policy. People don’t live well simply because they earn more. They live well because they are planned. To fail to plan is to plan to fail (Luke 14:28-31).

If your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your downfall. Good financial habits help you control your spending. You need a budget before the money arrives (Proverbs 6:6-8). What’s your money policy? It could be: “I don’t buy on credit." “I won’t lend out money I’m not willing to give away.”

Any money you cannot account for has permission to disappear (Proverbs 23:5). If you run a business, separate your capital from profit and from personal spending. At the end of each week, you should be able to give a simple overview of your finances. Never forget: We form habits, and then habits form us.

EMBRACE YOUR DIVINE ASSIGNMENT

A young man was set to travel out of town. Out of nowhere, his pastor called and asked him to stop by the church office first to handle a few things before he left. He felt reluctant, but he obeyed anyway.
He completed the task and then continued his journey. Later, he found out that if he had left when he originally planned, he would have been caught in a fatal accident that claimed many lives.

Friend, divine assignment is what delivers from satanic appointments (Luke 22:31-32). In God’s kingdom, assignments are not burdens — they are blessings. They are lifelines. They are God’s way of keeping us in His will and securing our destiny (Acts 13:36).

We are saved to serve (2 Timothy 1:9). When Jesus was warned that Herod wanted to kill Him, He sent word back: “I cannot die outside the place of my assignment” (Luke 13:31-33). You will never know what you escape — or what you forfeit — when you excuse yourself from what God has called you to do.

Just like in a natural family, the church is the Father’s house (Acts 13:1-2). Sons are raised to serve, and in the process, they themselves are raised. Saul served Kish. David served Jesse. Jesus served His Heavenly Father. It wasn’t convenient, but their obedience positioned them for their prophetic destiny (Philippians 2:5-11).

David was out of divine assignment, and that became a deep wound in his life (2 Samuel 11:1-5). What battles, what pain, what losses have you faced because you weren’t where God wanted you at that time? Where did you drop your guard and allow the enemy to sow weeds among your wheat (Matthew 13:24-25)?

We don’t take breaks from divine assignments. We only shift gears and go deeper (John 21:3-5). If you’re too busy for God’s assignments, you will be too available for the enemy’s traps. If you’re too big to stoop and serve in your generation, you will be too small to matter to God in your generation (Philippians 3:10-14).

MARRIAGE WON'T FIX YOU

A few years ago, I was counselling a couple. They were having serious issues in their marriage. Midway through the session, the wife said, “This issue started during our courtship. But I thought marriage would fix it. I see now that I was wrong.” That statement birthed today’s sharing: Marriage won’t fix you.

Friend, marriage won’t fix you. It will only magnify who you already are (1 Peter 3:1-7). Sadly, many people enter marriage, hoping it will fix them. Some even expect their spouse to fix them. There are spouses who have taken on the burden of “fixing” their partner. They ended up frustrated (1 Samuel 25:25).

The purpose of singlehood is to work on yourself before marriage (Proverbs 31:1-31). There’s no point rushing into marriage while ignoring obvious flaws in your life and character. Many people go into marriage with high expectations but low preparation. The result is premium frustration (2 Chronicles 27:6).

A great marriage will give you opportunities to grow and become better if you maximize it. (1 Timothy 4:7-8, 15). It will come at a cost. It will test your patience, humility, and selflessness. It will stretch you beyond your comfort (Isaiah 54:1-3). This is where many people react negatively instead of responding rightly.

Looking to your spouse to fix you, or trying to fix your spouse, is a subtle way of sidelining God’s lordship over both your lives. Let Him fix you both (2 Corinthians 3:18). That’s why it’s more productive to pray for your spouse than to nag them. It’s better to commit their heart to God than to engage in carnal manipulation (Proverbs 21:1).

Dear singles: If your life right now were multiplied in marriage, what kind of marriage would you have? If you don’t like the picture, change it now (James 1:22-25). Dear married folks: Maximize every opportunity for growth that marriage brings. Allow yourself to be tested, stretched, and refined. Stay under accountability (Isaiah 51:1-2). Don’t put your walk with God on hold while expecting marriage to work magic.

WHAT'S YOUR
CURRENT FORM?

Sometime ago, I saw an online image of the world’s fastest runner at the time. In that photo, he looked flabby and out of shape. Though he’s still quite young, I knew he was no longer fit for any competitive race.
He's no longer in form.

Friend, you need to be in form. Fitness is a requirement for relevance (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). That’s why in sports, we talk about current champions, not former champions. “When I used to reign... when I used to be anointed...” is not a testimony (Job 29:1-7). The real question is: What’s your current form?

God won’t keep you fit. You have to keep yourself fit (2 Peter 1:10). Coaches can guide and instil discipline, but they can’t run the race for you. They can’t train for you. The athlete must do the work. In the same way, mentors and spiritual fathers can guide and encourage you, but they can’t keep you fit. You must do it yourself (2 Timothy 1:6).

One of the devil’s strategies is to make you unfit for destiny. He gets you into habits that drain your spiritual potency (Song of Songs 2:15). He makes you comfortable going days without prayer or fellowship with God. He keeps you busy with frivolities and wastes your time on social media. He distracts you so he can destroy you (1 Kings 20:40).

To fulfil destiny, you need both righteousness and fitness. Don’t get to a place where God finds it difficult to use you, even if He originally planned to (Hosea 7:8-9). God will always forgive you, but He won’t always use you. Any gospel that says “how you live doesn’t matter” is sponsored from hell.

Choosing you is God's responsibility. Keeping fit is your responsibility (Matthew 22:1-14). Many people have frustrated their divine calling by refusing to stay fit. If you catch a revelation of your great destiny, you would stay fit (1 Corinthians 15:8-10). Keep fit spiritually. Keep fit mentally. Keep fit physically. Keep fit emotionally. Keep fit in every area. You will succeed.

Heaven does not help those who help themselves. Heaven helps those who cannot help themselves. Receive God's help today ...

QUIET SUCCESS

A man of God received some journalists at his ministry headquarters. After witnessing the impact of the work, they told him, “Sir, you’re doing amazing work. Why not let us put you out there so the world can see what you’re doing?” He responded: “I know what I’m doing. God knows what I’m doing. That’s enough.”

Friend, you don’t have to be loud to be solid. You don’t have to make noise to make impact (Matthew 6:1-6). Not every success is noisy, and not every impact announces itself. You must get comfortable with quiet success. Be assured that God sees and knows what you are doing (Galatians 6:7-9).

You must resist the pressure to prove that you’re doing something (John 7:3-6). The truth is, people who do things that count don’t pause to count them. Those who matter won’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter. If you can’t manage success, you won’t sustain impact (2 Chronicles 26:16).

People who are truly busy doing something are rarely available for optics (Philippians 3:12-14). If you’re busy with God in prayer, you won’t have time to be busy with people. If you’re investing quality time in your life and assignment, you won’t be available for every gist and gossip (Song of Songs 1:6).

There are Sanballats and Tobiahs everywhere trying to pull you away from your God-given assignment (Nehemiah 6:1-3). Like they did with Jesus, they’ll ask you to prove that God is with you. They’ll ask you to prove that you’re called and anointed. Don’t entertain them (Luke 4:3-4).

You will either live your life fulfilling purpose or live it trying to prove a point (John 7:8-10). Sadly, many people are busy proving a point to people who don’t even have their best interest at heart. Some pastors have stopped pursuing what God told them. They’re chasing what is generally accepted while disobeying the heavenly vision (Acts 26:19).

ESSENTIALS OVER ACCESSORIES

A young minister got an internship with a ministry. After the interview, he was told to resume. But he never did. When the team called him, his excuse was, “I’m trying to raise money for suits and the right clothes.” The head of the ministry looked at him and said, “Son, in this work, substance comes before suits."

Friend, choose essentials over accessories. People may notice your packaging, but they follow what you carry (1 Samuel 16:7). Outward things can get you a seat, but only inward strength will keep you there. If your pursuit is only appearance, you will expire when trends change. Build the man first, then build the look (Matthew 23:26).

Honour your season. In the beginning, you won’t have the suits, lights, or platforms you admire. That’s okay. That’s not failure. That’s formation (Zechariah 4:10). If you spend this season chasing what you don’t have, you will miss building what you need. Invest in skill, character, and wisdom now. The externals will catch up (Problems 24:3).

Don’t compare harvest to seed (Ecclesiastes 11:6). We often judge fathers by their now, not by their journey. We want their stage, brand, and systems without their years of hidden work. What you see today is fruit. Fruit takes time, soil, and watering. Don’t despise the process God is using to grow what you are praying for (Galatians 6:9).

Embrace process, not just products (2 Timothy 2:2). Some leaders speak from where they are, not where they are coming from. They pressure young people with aesthetics, lights, and ambience. But fathers are to show sons how they met God, stayed consistent, and endured. Lights are a by-product. The real power is formed in secret and proven in obedience (Psalm 1:3).

Pursue essentials before accessories. Accessories improve the essential, they don’t replace it. You can minister without the latest suit, but you cannot minister without the anointing (Luke 2:52). Stop chasing stage lights. Chase the light of the Word. That light will create more platforms than you can count. Go after substance, and the extras will follow (Matthew 6:33).
