RHEMA TO REMA; From the Church to the World
(ADULTS ONLY.๐๐)
So I saw some people blaming pastors for REMA and other music artistes for leaving the church to the world.
Saying they are not given platforms,
They are not given money...
They are not given endorsements...
I even saw someone mockingly say that "a music artist will finish singing in church and all the pastor will say is GOD BLESS YOU..or IT IS WELL. As if those words were insults or mere clichรฉs.
Look, I really feel bad for the young man and the great talents we are loosing to to the world but we have no right to blame his pastors.
Where is the place of waiting and spiritual maturity? Didn't the bible say that THEY THAT WAIT upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up on wings as eagles and be strong as mount Zion that cannot be shaken?
Where is the place of the LAW OF PROCESS?
This guy was just 17 or 18yrs when he got the RECORD DEAL with MAVIN RECORDS. So how long did he serve God in the church with his pastor, I thought service goes before greatness in this kingdom? Or have we changed the protocol?
The bible told us how Jesus waited for at least 18years after discovering his talents at age 12, he went back and got the necessary training to face the world.
Yes, I know not everyone must get to 30 before God begins to use them, I am not 30 yet and I started our ministry at 19, but there is timing(KAIROS MOMENTS) for everything and everyone. This is about 8 years in ministry and we are still waiting.
The Bible told us that John STAYED in the wilderness eating locust and wild honey UNTIL his TIME OF HIS SHOWING FORTH TO ISRAEL...
We like the SHOWING FORTH but we don't like the wilderness experience.
Many young(indomie) generation today are overtly concerned about MAKING IT(MONEY, FAME, S*X) than about God MAKING THEM.
They are just eager to manifest without being made by God under a faithful leader with the instrument of DISCIPLESHIP.
You'll see them jumping from one church to the other looking for MIC when they suppose to look for GOD, immediately you give them the platform to sing, vooom they disappear...
They'll never sit down to hear the word of God. I'VE SEEN THEM A LOT, I'm a pastor.
Instrumentalists are even worst... let me not even go there.
They just want to make it, anyhow and it must be NOW. I've heard someone said that even if it will take me to go to hell and sup with the devil to be famous, I'll do it.
Do you know how long Nathaniel Bassey waited? (17 years).
Do you know how long Sinach waited?
Do you know how long the guy call K.I waited?
Do you know how long Theophilus waited?
Imagine if Jesus left the cross because of the pain? The bible said, "for the joy set before him, he ENDURED(a word many young people aren't familiar with.)the shame and pain....
Wait, why are behaving like we have the same VALUE SYSTEM with the world?
Why do we not understand that our principles here is exactly the opposite of that of the world?
How long will it take us to know that our rules of engagement are totally against theirs?
Listen, no one needs to be blame concerning the salvation of another, everyone has been given the injunction to "work out his salvation with fear and trembling."
Yes, there are many factors that are responsible for losing believers to the world, ENVIRONMENAL, PARENTAL, PASTORAL..but the INDIVIDUAL believer is primarily responsible for FIGHTING THE FIGHT OF FAITH.
When a believer leaves the church,
THERE ARE TWO MAJOR SIDES TO THIS;
1. THE LOVE FOR THE WORLD.
A perfect example for this kind of issue is DEMAS in the Bible;
2Ti 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia
Demas, is mentioned only thrice in the Bible.
His name means popular, people pleaser. He loves popularity like most musically gifted people
The first mention of Demas is found Colossians 4:14 โLuke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.โ It is clear he was with Paul while he wrote to the Colossians.
He must have been a faithful man.
He is mentioned again in Philemon 1:24 โMarcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.โ
You see that Paul called him a fellowlabourer along with others.
He must have worked so very hard with Paul in the ministry.
You see that Demas was once a faithful, committed, and sold out minister who worked with Paul. But for some REASON he forsook Paul and the ministry. Like many singers do today.
But then he gave us the reason for the desertion,
The reason was that "HAVING LOVED THIS PRESENT WORLD."
So all the while he was working with Paul in the ministry his eyes were still fixed in the ways of the world and not on that of Lord.
The interesting thing here is the word translated love. It is agapao, unconditional love!!!
And that is the same word used in 1 John 2:15, โLove not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.โ
So the believer is commanded NOT to love the world NOR anything in it...that is, not to love the VALUE SYSTEMS of this world, if he does, it is only an indication that the LOVE OF THE FATHER is not in him because "friendship with the world is ENMITY against God. James 4:17
When Demas started loving the world he quit loving the Father!!!
To be involved with Jesus Christ as a Believer and sometimes as a minister can be a very difficult thing. We all know that.
Sometimes the road is hard and tough, but they that endure to the very end shall be crowned.
No matter what happens, let your love for the Father never wax cold. There is a Hell to shun and a Heaven to gain. Keep your gaze on the Father.
Demas chose the corrupt value system of the unsaved world over what heaven values. As the NLT translates it, Demas โloves the things of this lifeโ (2 Timothy 4:10).
We donโt know the details of Demasโ situation, but it is evident that Demas decided that what Satan has to offer in this life is better than what God has to offer in the next.
โDemas was a fair weather disciple who never counted the cost of genuine commitment to Christโ (MacArthur Study Bible, ibid.).
This kind of a person is described in the Parable of the Sower,
โThey...are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall awayโ (Luke 8:13).
Bible warns earlier that if sinner entice us we should not follow them.
2. THEY WERE NOT OF US IN THE FIRST PLACE;
So in some other cases, if someone leaves the church because he wasn't given whatever, it means he wasn't really part of us.
Look at this scripture,
"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us". ~ 1 John 2:19
It is said that YOU CAN TAKE A MAN OUT OF THE VILLAGE BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE THE VILLAGE OUT OF THE MAN.
The problem with this conclusion is that John is not referring to those who turn away from the faith because of deception, offense, unresolved questions, etc.
John is referring to seducers who are false teachers, false prophets, and even false brethren, who have an anti-Christ spirit. At first they may appear to be true ministers and brethren, but eventually who they truly are comes to light through their message and works which are contrary to Christ.
Even if the church should invest in them what happened now would still happen to them.
Who are they in Christ before Don jazzy captured them?
Because someone grows from the church doesn't mean he's a child of God.
Because someone can sing, play instruments, preach etc doesn't mean they are children of God.
The bible says, "By their fruits we shall know them." and "wisdom is justified of her children.
Christians are in the world but not of the world.
I have seen youths that some churches invested so much in them but some of them ended up not continuing in the faith.
If pastors can stay for years in order to be useful by God, the singers should do the same.
The pastor is not a sponsor, he is a Shepherd and a teacher.
This is not to say that the church should fold arms and watching our youths being captured by the devil, we should invest greatly in our youth and train them in the ways of the Lord.
Listen, this guy may soon fade away, like M.I, LIL KESH, FAZE, and the rest of them...but in the KINGDOM, for those who wait, our relevance is like MOUNT ZION that can not be shaken, our impact is like God's mercies, they are new every morning.
Comfort one another with these words.
And like Job, " all the days of my appointed time, I will WAIT UNTIL MY CHANGE COMES.
