Just Eat The Small Chocolate And Go About Your Life. 😂
Yes, I said what I said.
Because imagine you're craving chocolate 🍫.
Instead of eating the chocolate, you decide to be “disciplined.”
You eat an apple 🍎.
You're still thinking about chocolate.
You eat cucumber 🥒 & groundnut 🥜.
Still thinking about chocolate.
You eat watermelon 🍉 .
Chocolate is still living rent-free in your head. 😭
Eventually, you give in and buy the chocolate.
Now you've eaten:
Apple 🍎, cucumber 🥒, groundnut 🥜 & watermelon 🍉
And you're wondering:
“How did I end up eating all this?” 😭😂
This is something I've been learning about eating and weight management:
Not every urge to eat needs the same response.
And I want you to leave this post remembering just TWO things.
1. If you're genuinely hungry, EAT.
If your stomach is actually asking for food, please don't start playing games with yourself.
Don't say:
“Let me just eat cucumber.”
Then apple.
Then banana.
Then a few groundnuts.
Then some popcorn…
Meanwhile, you're still hungry. 😭
If you're genuinely hungry, look for actual whole food and eat a proper, satisfying meal.
You don't have to punish yourself because you're trying to lose weight.
You can have rice.
Beans.
Yam.
Potatoes.
Plantain.
Eggs.
Fish.
Chicken.
Vegetables.
Whatever fits your eating pattern and your needs.
Feed the hunger.
Because continuously picking at tiny snacks when you actually need a meal can leave you unsatisfied and still looking for more food.
2. If you're already satisfied but still want to snack, SNACK WITH CAUTION.
This one is different.
You've eaten.
You're physically comfortable.
You're not really hungry.
But you just want something.
Maybe it's chocolate.
Maybe biscuits.
Maybe chin-chin.
Maybe that particular pastry you've been thinking about since morning. 😂
First, recognize it:
“I'm not hungry. I just want a snack.”
And that's okay.
You don't have to treat every craving like a criminal offense. 😂
If you decide you want the snack, have a reasonable portion, enjoy it and move on.
What I don't want you doing is going through five rounds of “healthy substitutions” just to avoid the food you actually want.
Because let's use our chocolate example again.
You want chocolate.
You eat an apple to avoid it.
Still want chocolate.
You eat cucumber 🥒 & groundnuts 🥜.
Still want chocolate.
You eat banana 🍌.
Still want chocolate.
You eat Avacado 🥑.
Still want chocolate.
Then you eventually eat the chocolate anyway.
Now you've consumed all those foods PLUS the chocolate.
And here's the important part:
Those “healthy” foods still contain calories.
Healthy does not mean calorie-free.
An apple has calories.
Banana has calories.
Groundnuts have calories.
Cucumber has calories.
Avocado has calories.
Even nutritious foods contribute to your total energy intake.
So sometimes, trying so hard to avoid one particular snack can ironically lead you to eat more food overall.
The solution isn't:
“Always eat your cravings.”
No.
The solution is:
Know what you're responding to.
If you're hungry → eat.
If you're satisfied but want a snack → you can snack, but do it intentionally.
Portion it.
Enjoy it.
And move on.
Don't turn one craving into a three-hour negotiation with yourself. 😂
Because the goal of weight loss isn't to become scared of food.
It's to become more aware of your eating.
So if there's only TWO things you remember from this post, remember these:
GENUINELY HUNGRY?
Look for whole food. Eat. Satisfy the hunger.
ALREADY SATISFIED BUT WANT TO SNACK?
Snack with caution. Don't spend the next hour eating several “healthy” foods trying to escape one craving only to eat the craving anyway.
Just eat the small chocolate and move on 😂
