TOPIC: THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PRODUCE FAITHFULNESS
⚓Scripture: Galatians 5:22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,(TLB)

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of our series on the ministry of the Holy Spirit: We've established that the Holy Spirit minister conviction that leads to salvation and continued beyond salvation as He produces in us fruit of the Spirit. If you are genuinely born again understand then that the Holy Spirit has stepped into your soul. And according to our anchor scripture if you allow the Holy Spirit to now control your your life, it will produces a new life and that life develops a character that is called the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is one single fruit manifesting in divers characters that are Christ- like characters. Hence, the formation of these characters define your level of maturity as a Christian. So you can do a check of how mature you are in the light of God's word by the kinds of fruit of the Spirit you are exhibiting per time! Please understand that your character/fruit per time glorifies God if it is Christ-like.
*John 15: 8. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.*

*What are the fruit of the Spirit or Christ like characters expected from every believer?*
They are:
(I). Love (ii). Joy
(iii). Peace (iv).Longsuffering (forbearance) ( check our previous edition)
(v). Gentleness (kindness) and (vi). Goodness (check yesterday's meditation)

VI. *FAITH (FAITHFULNESS)* (Gal. 5;22): In (KJV) it is rendered as Faith while in other Bible translations it rendered as Faithfulness.
*What is Faithfulness:?*
It means fidelity, punctuality in performing promises, conscientious carefulness in preserving what is committed to our trust in restoring back to proper owner what is not yours. Fidelity in transacting the business confided to us, neither betraying the secret of our friends nor disappointing the confidence of our employer.

Many of us are guilty in this regards, as we betray trust and disappointed confidence imposed on us! Imagine a friend is dying and transfer his wealth and business to a partner who claims to be born again. Then this dying friend plead with his friend to please take good care of his wife and children while he gave up the ghost. These same person ended up dispossessing the children of his late friend's of their father's properties and take over all of them. Meanwhile, the children of the late friend were thrown out of school as they were no longer able to pay their school fees. The wife of the late friend also died out of frustration and inability to cope with children without support! Her husband died while transferring his business to a friend who made a promise to take care of his family but never kept to to his words. He betrayed the trust imposed on him, yet he is shouting hallelujah praise the LORD! He is even praying in tongues while breaking covenant. This is one of the ways people places themselves under a curse and yet they are expecting the blessing of God upon their lives. Many are like this man who are covenant breakers.

I have had my own share of this terrible experiences before; I had been betrayed and backstab by so-called a pastor who claimed to be a friend. I have several lists of terrible experiences of believers, including men with eccliastical titles whom you will think at least they should keep their words because of their titles, yet they did not because many of them have lost touch with the Holy Spirit! So, if you are to do business deals with anyone including believers now you will need a lawyer to document the agreement of the deals because many Christians are no longer faithful in terms of money matters. This is why the assertion that you are not truly born again until you are born again with money matters. Most believers lack financial integrity and a little trust with money they cannot account for it. They contribute money in your hands/account in church and the money disappeared because you have lost touch with the Holy Spirit. This is not revealing the character of Christ. Jesus said:
*Matthew 5: 37. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.*

Beloved, can you see what Jesus is teaching us from the above scripture? It means if you tell the truth the first time, you will not be looking for what to say the second time. It takes a lie to cover up another lie! But say the truth and be delivered from secrets sin. Why on earth, should a believer receive goods, money etc and promise to pay back but never pay back? This kind of character hurts deeply! Beloved if that has been your lifestyle, the Holy Ghost is saying it is time to repent and stop it. And if you have been hurt by others, I bring you a word of healing, the Lord that heals me from every emotional injury is bringing healing to your heart right now in the name of Jesus.

Perhaps, you are the categories that make promises and never keep to your words! You break hearts that ever tried to trust you without remorse! Infact, you are so used to it that your conscience is now dead to the voice of the Holy Spirit! It is high time we repent and do away with such character that is devilish. The Bible said:
*1 Corinthians 4: 2. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.*

This implies that even in our services to God, we must be faithful! Faithful in soul wining, faithful in prayer, faithful in giving etc. There are those who pay their tithe once in a while and then stopped paying. If you are not faithful in your tithing how can you experience an open door financially? There are those who promised to support this vision at the beginning of the year but now, they have stopped!

Beloved, whatever capacity you are serving the Lord be faithful because you are a steward here on earth. If you are privileged to serve in another man's business please be faithful. How faithful you are to God in managing another man's business determine how fast your own will come;
*Luke 16: 12. And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?*

Faithfulness is one character or fruit of the Spirit that is lacking in the church today, don't be part of the statistics, say no to unfaithfulness, let your being born again goes with you to your office and prove the world wrong that are not all thesame as professing Christian yet scammers.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of our series on the ministry of Holy Spirit. We did establish that the ministry of the Holy Spirit in a man produces different forms of character, which is also called the fruit of the spirit! The spirit here is our recreated human spirit. We have examined a few of them, which are love, joy, peace, and long-suffering. And today we intend to examine gentleness and goodness.

*GENTLENESS/KINDNESS* (Gal.5:22): Gentleness is being calm in the spirit and polite in dealing with people. It is called kindness in the (NIV) which also means graciousness, kindness and uprightness. This is what seasoned your speech that enables you to know the answer to give everyone. The Bible said:
*Colossians 4: 6. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.*

So, those irrational behaviour where a believer talk rashly, insulting every body within his/her sphere of contact is antichrist character! That's not a sign that you have received the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Jesus wants to be reveals through our speech by being gentle/kind!

Most believers have closed the door God open to them because they lack this character of being kind. It is one character that is also necessary for maintaining relationships and relationships are the seeds through which favour multiply. If you can not maintain relationships there are certain levels of favour you can not access because what you are looking for in life is in the hands of men and if you drive them away by your character, how can you access those things. So don't drive away people from your life with your mouth/speech. The Bible said:
*Colossians 3: 12. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;*

Observed as God's elect ; He wants you to be kind/gentle towards people. Don't run down people with your mouth because you are privileged to be head. Headship means there should be words of kindness in your speech. You are a minister of God of irrespective of your age or s*x, so minister life not death, let your speech be seasoned with grace. Don't hurl out insult on people at will. Be kind to your subordinate and everyone within your sphere of contact. Don't speak evil of anyone, don't blackmail anyone and don't cook up lies or false allegations on people because that is demonic character and it shouldn't be part of our lives as Christians. The Bible said:
*Titus 3: 2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.*

*GOODNESS* (Gal.5:22);
Goodness is innate desire to do good! It is the perpetual desire and sincerity to do good to the utmost of our ability. Please take note of the clause to the utmost of our ability! Meaning you can only do as much as your ability can carry! So, there are those who really want to do good but lack ability! The one we are interested in is the one you have the ability to do good and do it promptly. When you do that which is within your power, that indeed is the quality of goodness. Now, the ability to do good to all men is not in every man except those that are born again (Rom.3:12)! It is in the fallen human nature to select those to do good for! This is where tribalism and nepotism begins from. They want to be good to only selected individuals probably because of reputation or a kind of seeking for attention or for some favour from them. But this is not the goodness Jesus desire from us. Jesus wants us to be able to do good to all men, and for that to happen we need to be born again! When we are born again the ability to do good is imparted into our spirit by the help of the Holy Spirit and then we are able to do good. Hence the Bible said:
*Matthew 5: 44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;*

Can you imagine Jesus is saying do good to those that hate you! How possible is it for someone to hate you yet you are doing good for him/her? This can can only be by the help of the Holy Spirit at work in you producing the fruit of goodness.

Beloved, doing good is a character of Jesus which is expected of us His disciples. The Bible said:
*Acts 10: 38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.*

So, Jesus went about doing good and has imparted us with the same ability to do good. This is indeed the fruit of the Spirit. Permit me to ask you a question are you born again? If yes, then the ability to do good is already imparted into you because you have already received the ministry of the Holy Spirit, so, go ahead and begin to exhibit the character/fruit of goodness today. One of the reason why God continuously sends His word to us daily is so that we might become more like Christ in experience. So, yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, allow Him to take control of your life, and then you can exhibit the character of your heavenly father because He is a good God

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of of our series on the ministry Holy Spirit in a man. We did establish that the ministry of the Spirit produces the recreation of the human spirit! Hence the Bible said:
*2 Corinthians 5: 17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.*

We also said that beyond the recreated human spirit at salvation the Holy Spirit also produces a character which is also called the fruit of the Holy Spirit. We have examined few of them which are love, joy and peace. And today we shall be looking at long-suffering.

*What are the expected fruit (character) of a believer that has received the ministry of the Holy Spirit?*
The expected character is called fruit of the Spirit which is a singular fruit that manifests as Christ like character. The Christ-like characters exhibited is the mark of genuine born again child of God that has also been exposed to the teaching of the word of God over time! These characters include the following:
I. Love (check previous edition )
II. Joy and peace ( for details check yesterday meditation)

IV. Long-suffering: This is the fourth fruit of the Spirit(Gal.5:22); It is the ability to bear things when they are not working out the way you desire. It is being very patient during difficult and trying times. It also speaks of the ability to bear with someone when you are not getting desired results from them. This is where most Christians fail! You will need this character of long-suffering to be able to maintain relationships. There are several profiting relationships that have lost because of lack of long-suffering. Another word for long-suffering is forbearance. It means to keep on putting up with someone even when we are not getting the desired result from them.

Husband and wife must have forbearance for their marriage to keep going even when your partner seems to fail beyond your expectations. The Bible said:
*Colossians 3: 13. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.*

So, all these, ideas of "I don't tolerate nonsense " is not a language of the kingdom because it is not Christ-like. We must graduate from being a baby who vacillate between emotions! Rather than throwing tantrums at each other at slighted provocation we display forebearance believing that the other person will change with time. If there is forebearance the rate of divorce amongst Christians couples will reduce drastically. One of my barrister friend that work in court told me that, the highest number of those that filled for divorce in court are Christians! Why Christians is because there is an attack on Christians' marriage, and in a little matter where the believers should forbear and forgive, they couldn't. Rather, they approach the court for a divorce.

Beloved, don't pack out of that marriage because your expectations are not met yet! Don't think it will always be greener on the other side because it is not all that glitters that is gold.

Similarly, the Bible said:
*Ephesians 6: 9. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.*

Boss and subordinates must tolerate each other with forbearance for you to bring out the best in each other. Those who are still learning about life, you must forbear their character while they grow.

Beloved, don't quit your job now because you have a difficult boss! Don't rush out to go and start your ministry because you have a difficult senior pastor! I'm aware that there are very difficult pastors to work with, but just a little patience, and God will vindicate you. Learn endurance now by the things you are going through. For the Bible said of Jesus:
*Hebrews 5: 8. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;*

Long-suffering, is a must exhibit fruit of the Holy Spirit if really we want to maintain strategic relationships.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of what we started yesterday on the ministry of the Holy Spirit beyond salvation also called well dimension of the Holy Spirit! We discovered that the ministry of the Holy Spirit at well dimension produces fruit of the Spirit which is also known as christ like character. The individual is able to exhibit Christ-like characters as a result of the Holy Spirit recreating our human spirit plus transformation that has taken place via the agency of the word of God. Today, shall examine the fruit of joy and peace produce by the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

*What are the expected fruit (character) of a believer in Christ that has received the ministry of the Holy Spirit?*
It is simply the fruit of the Holy Spirit. They are:
I. Love(Gal.5:22, Jn.13:34); This is the acid test of your being saved (John 13:35; 1Jn.3:14).
(For details of this check yesterday meditation)

II. Joy(Gal.5:22): This is the exultation that arises from a sense of God's mercy communicated to the soul in the pardon for it's iniquities and prospect for eternal glory. This joy is described as everlasting (Isa.51:11) and unspeakable joy (1Pet.1:8). It is a true mark of being born again (Acts 8;8)! Besides love, the primary proof of being genuinely born again is joy unspeakable! The greatest attack from hell is targeted at your joy, because the devil knows as long as you have joy, your service to God is not negotiable:
*Nehemiah 8: 10. Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.*

Beloved, it is possible you were once a partaker of this joy! That was when you gave your heart to Jesus newly, but now the joy have lost! Christianity is no longer exciting because joy had withered away!. Oh sorry oh! It could be as a result of the fact that your Christian life is barren of testimony that was why you lost the joy of your salvation or it is business failure. Heartbreak, betrayal or delibrate journey into sin! There's hope for you in Christ. You can return back as you cry like David:
*Psalm 51: 12. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.*

Make up your mind not to allow anything tamper with your joy. For the Bible said:
*Habakkuk 3: 17. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18. Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.*

III. Peace (Gal.5:22): The third fruit mentioned is peace.The Hebrew word for peace is Shalom! Which is the calm, quiet and order that take place in the justified souls. It is the umpire of your salvation that is always agitated the moment you step out of your boundaries as a child of God. Once you sin, you lose your peace until you confess and forsake it. The Bible said:
*Romans 5: 1. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:*

Beloved, have you lost your peace on the altar of immorality or shady business deals? Whatever it is that you have done that has made you lose your joy, and peace? It is time to get it restored back to you. Whatever makes you lose your peace is not of God, it is the devil at work. That is why the easiest way to know the will of God is the loss of peace! Any relationship that makes you lose your peace run away from it. For the Bible says:
*Romans 14: 17. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.*

Observed from this scripture peace and joy are the characteristics of the kingdom. So when you are born again, and the kingdom of God steps into your soul you experience joy and peace. And whatever is trying to push you out of the kingdom tamper with your peace and joy therfore is not the will of God. So, walk out of that business that is making you to lose your joy and peace, do thesame for any relationship that is making you lost joy and peace. You don't need to know the details now, just walk out and you will know later.

*Assignment:* Check your life, if you find it difficult to praise God or render any service then, your joy and peace is under serious attack you will need to call upon God for restoration.

TOPIC: THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT PRODUCE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Yesterday, we started exploring the ministry of the Holy Spirit at salvation and beyond salvation and established that the Holy Spirit minister conviction that leads to salvation. Then, beyond salvation, we enumerate various ways He does minister to us. Today, we shall be looking at one major way the Holy Spirit minister to us in shaping our character, which is producing in us a christ like character, also known as the fruit of the spirit.

*The Holy Spirit ministry produces in us fruit of the spirit*
We established yesterday that at Salvation, the Holy Spirit is described as water in a well. When the Holy Spirit steps into your life for the first time at salvation. He produces a recreation/regeneration of the human spirit by bringing a new life into your human spirit, and this is termed being born again. Now that you are born again, your spirit has been recreated. The Holy Spirit continues His ministry until your life begins to produce result that is called fruit of the spirit. If our lives does not bear the fruit of the spirit after being born again and exposed to the word of God for a considerable period of time, then our salvation is in doubt. This is why our anchor scripture said:
*Galatians 5: 22. But the fruit of the Spirit is...*

Please observe the clause "but the fruit of the Spirit is"! Meaning the Holy Spirit produces a fruit which are itemised thus; and the list continue love, joy, peace...! You will also observe from this same scripture that the word 'fruit' was not used in the plural sense but singular, "fruit"! This implies that all the various fruits mentioned are part of a whole. The idea of just one or two fruits is not there, rather one single fruit exhibited in different forms.

It is, therefore, safe to say the ministry of the Holy Spirit is what is responsible for character formation. Although it takes time for this character to be formed, in fact, it takes active labour of a labourer to achieve this character formation! The Bible said:
*Galatians 4: 19. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,*

Christ forming in you is character formation. That is why we are
admonished:
*Philippians 2: 5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:*

So possessing the mind of Christ is character formation that is largely termed transformation! But behind the formation of those Christ-like characters is the ministry of the Holy Spirit existing at a well level. Those characters that make you a Christian come out of the fact that you are born again, and your spirit has been recreated. So if you are still exhibiting devilish character instead of Christ like character after claiming to be born again for a long time and you have been exposed to the teaching of the word of God, then something is wrong with your claim of being born again because the Holy Spirit can not give birth to devilish characters!

*What are the expected characters of a believer in Christ?*
It is simply the fruit of the Holy Spirit. That is the character expected. Jesus said:
*Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.*

The fruit Jesus is expected from us are:
I. Love(Gal.5:22, Jn.13:34); This is the agape kind of love that is not natural but sacrificial. It is love that does not discriminate and is unconditional. It makes you love the one that does not deserve your love and that can only happen by the power of the Holy Spirit:
*Romans 5: 5. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.*

Observe the clause "the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost"! Please permit me to ask you this question, has this love of God been shed abroad in your heart? If yes! Then you can love sacrificially. Otherwise, it is not possible to love sacrificially without the Holy Ghost! Most of the love we profess amongst men is conditional love. And once the conditions are no longer favourable, love fizzles out, and love dies. This is why a man/woman who goes to church regularly but is not born again can do terrible things that make people surprised. You will see two people professing love and marriage today. Tomorrow, they are heading to court for divorce because this love of God is absent in them. Even some of them do quote scriptures. Surprisingly, the Bible they are quoting has not changed their lives! This is because quoting the scriptures is not equal to being born again. Otherwise, most professors in Christian religion would have been born again by abundance of scriptures in their head. Scriptures in your head are different from scriptures in your heart! Christian education or having enlightenment is quite different from being born again or possessing the God life. You can be enlightened with scriptures and quote it accurately, yet you are not born again. To be born again means to be regenerated. To have the Spirit of God dwelling in heart! This is possible because the Holy Spirit has brought conviction of sin to your soul, and in response, you confess the Lordship of Jesus over your life. Don't pride yourself because you attend church service regularly you must be born again or because you are born into Christian home and you have been going to church for a long time then you must be born again! If truly you are born again, the primary proof is love! Love for God that must reflect in the lives of men.
