In 2024, Announce Digital Fashion made history by hosting one of Africa’s first digital fashion exhibitions in Lagos, Nigeria. We brought together fashion designers, 3D artists, XR creators, innovators and storytellers to explore the future of African fashion through digital exhibitions, immersive experiences, conversations and workshops.

In 2025, we returned even stronger. We expanded our community through webinars, workshops, industry conversations and collaborations, creating more opportunities for African creatives to learn, connect and showcase their work.

Now, we’re building the next chapter.

ADF 2026 is officially underway, and submissions are now open for designers, digital artists and creatives who want to exhibit their work.

Theme:
“Reclaim. Digitize. Preserve -
Restoring and Redefining Africa’s Fashion
Legacy”

If your work reimagines African heritage, culture, craftsmanship or identity through fashion and technology, we want to see it.

📅 Submission deadline: September 30, 2026.

Follow and join us as we continue building Africa’s digital fashion future, one creator, one story and one exhibition at a time.

This perspective from .mdlalose got us thinking.

African fashion is often discussed as inspiration, but perhaps its greatest contribution is as a body of knowledge, one that continues to shape how we think about design, craftsmanship, innovation, and culture.

What do you think African fashion teaches us?

Let us know your thoughts, and do well to drop a follow .mdlalose

Somewhere between fashion, innovation, and economic development, a quiet shift is taking place.

More institutions are paying attention to Africa’s creative industries and for good reason.

This week, we’re unpacking why banks are investing in fashion, culture, and entrepreneurship, and what it could mean for the future of African fashion.

Stay tuned.

The most compelling designers right now are not waiting on budgets or supply chains.

They’re bringing their ideas to life through a screen.
digital shows this beautifully through her “Know Your African Fabric” series, using 3D to explore African textiles as a starting point for modern design.

This is what digital fashion makes possible.

If you’re interested in her work, she’s definitely worth exploring.
