Today’s message in church was on Fervour in Thanksgiving. Here’s one simple story that explains it.

I once heard about two children who were given the same gift by their father.

The first child collected it, smiled a little, and walked away like it was expected.

The second child couldn’t contain the joy. He hugged his father, kept saying, “Thank you!” He even went around telling everyone how good his father was.

Both received the same gift, but only one showed fervour.

That’s how many of us treat God.

We pray with passion when we need something. We fast with passion when we’re trusting God for a breakthrough. But when He answers… our thanksgiving becomes casual.

The Bible is full of people who thanked God with all their hearts. David danced with all his might. Miriam led the women with singing and dancing. Paul and Silas praised God in prison. The psalmist said, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.”

Fervour isn’t about making noise for people to see. It’s giving God your whole heart.

If God has been good to you and He has, don’t thank Him like it’s a routine. Thank Him like someone who truly knows where He brought you from.

Because a grateful heart never runs out of reasons to praise God.

Don’t let your prayer life be louder than your thanksgiving life. God deserves both. ❤️🙏🏽

Your body is God’s temple, and it's not because you’ve earned it, but because He’s already in there. So this is not even about being perfect. But about being aware.

Aware of what you’re letting in. Aware of how you move, how you talk, how you show up. Aware of whose you are.

That’s it. Not “try harder.” Just remember who’s living in you.

And on the days you mess up? You don’t disappear. You come back. You realign. You keep walking.

You’re not chasing worthiness. You already have access, you’re just learning to walk like it.

Life can be full of excuses and justifications. In the area of our clothes, we can often hear excuses similar to “God looks at our hearts, not our clothes” or “it’s not my fault that men lack self-control” or “I dress more modestly than others.” These excuses are easy to say and believe when we don’t grasp the purpose of modesty. God didn’t create modesty so that people would stop comparing or lusting. These things are sometimes by-products, but they are not the purpose.

The purpose of modesty is holiness. God created us to be holy, meaning we are to be set apart from everything that is opposite His truth. Holiness is not achieved by being good or following moral rules; it’s achieved through seeking to be so intimate with God that you can’t breathe without Him.

One of the biggest hindrances to holiness is ourselves. We begin to focus on what we want, how we need to feel, and how we want to be viewed by others. We dress in a way that allows us to achieve these necessary wants and feelings. We lose the fact that life is not about us but about God. When this happens lines get blurred, excuses rise to the surface and justifications invade our hearts. God, knowing this, advises us to implement the principle of modesty. He knows that striving for modesty will help us downgrade our personal desire and need to feel significant, redirecting our focus onto His truth. God cares about how we live our lives. No excuses or justification will change that. I pray that you begin to see modesty as a tool to help guide you into a lifestyle of holiness.

Modesty is a reflection of a heart that seeks to glorify God in all things. It’s letting our inner beauty shine brighter than anything external. Sisters, your choice to dress modestly, to carry yourself with dignity, and to honor God with your body is a powerful message in a society that often values appearances over substance.
