LINES WILL FALL IN PLACE. 🇳🇬
When Mrs Nze reached out to us for an outfit to present an award at independence day award night…. I wanted this dress to tell a story beyond its silhouette.
The lines begin separately, each taking its own path, yet gradually finding their way toward one another a reflection of the many people, cultures and stories that make up our national identity.
The clustered embellishments speak to our diversity: distinct in their beauty, yet converging at one point.
And at the back, I drew from the image of the Nigerian mother and her wrapper, a familiar symbol of holding, carrying and nurturing.
I imagined Nigeria as that mother, holding all of us within her embrace.
Because unity isn’t about becoming the same.
It’s about finding a way to come together.
And the green? A colour of identity, but also of hope.
Here’s to hoping our lines fall in place.
Xoxo
