Preston and Porter was born out of a long time passion for design and fashion history by the owners. Long before they became a retailer, they would read fashion magazines and were fascinated by fashion’s ability to tap into cultural and artistic movements taking place at

a particular moment in time. During their travels around the world they would also seek out unique shopping destinations and were attracted to multiband stores with a unique point of view. That provided a unique perspective that has now reflected in their own luxury lifestyle boutique locations. When we decided to launch the first store in Ikeja, it was about filling a niche that didn’t exist at the time. We wanted to get away from the typical experience of shopping in a mall by creating a free standing store - a destination in itself. Instead of expansive window displays, we created a sense of mystery by focusing on what’s inside the store rather than what’s outside. Over the years we’ve acquired customers from all over the country in search of unique pieces specifically suited by our market. That is why we decided to open a second store in Lekki, where we saw the largest demand.
