BEGINNERS, LET'S LEARN TAPE READING TODAY! 📏

If you are still confused about 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 inch on tape, this is for you.

Look at this picture very well:

👉 RED LINE = Whole inch ( 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 inch )
👉 BLACK LINE = Half inch ( 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 inch )
👉 GREEN LINE = Quarter inch ( 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, 1.75, 2.25, 2.75... )

So when someone says:
1.5 inch = 1 inch + half (the black line)
2.75 inch = 2 inch + 0.75 (the green line after 2.5)

Once you understand this, your cutting will be accurate and your clothes will fit perfectly!

Save this picture and practice. No more guesswork!

Did you learn something? Tell me in the comments what part of tape still confuses you.

Good evening, lovely people! ❤️🌹

As this beautiful Sunday comes to an end, take a moment to appreciate how far you've come. You may not have achieved everything you desire yet, but don't underestimate the power of small steps and consistent effort. 🙏✨

Just like fashion, life is about finding your style, embracing your uniqueness, and having the confidence to stand out without trying to be someone else. 💃🏽💚

Never compare your journey to another person's runway. Your time to shine will come! 👑✨

Keep dreaming, keep growing, keep showing up, and keep becoming the woman you were created to be. Tomorrow is another opportunity to do better. ❤️

May your new week bring you fresh opportunities, beautiful moments, and reasons to smile. Amen! 🙏💕

Good afternoon, beautiful people! 💚☀️

Sunday is a reminder that life is a beautiful journey, and every new day is another opportunity to grow, glow, and become the best version of yourself. 🌿✨

In fashion, remember that you don't have to wear the most expensive outfit to look elegant.

Confidence, simplicity, and how you carry yourself make all the difference. 👗👑
Dress beautifully, walk confidently, and never stop believing in the woman you're becoming. Your dreams are valid, and your efforts will pay off. ❤️🙏

Wishing you a peaceful and productive Sunday afternoon! 🥰

Happy Sunday, my lovely people! ❤️🙏🏽

May God clothe us with favour, surround us with peace, and bless the work of our hands this new week.

Just as we dress ourselves with beauty, may we also wear kindness, patience, wisdom, and confidence wherever we go.
May doors of opportunities open for us, and may our dreams become testimonies. In Jesus' name, Amen! 🙏🏽✨

Stay blessed, stay beautiful, and keep shining! 👑

CUTTING TOOLS IN SEWING - STOP USING THE WRONG SCISSORS! ✂️

If you are still using one scissors to cut everything, this post is for you.

1. Dressmaking Shears - Your main Oga. Only for cutting FABRIC. Never use it to cut paper, or it will become dull.

2. Pinking Shears - The one with zig-zag teeth. It cuts fabric in a way that it won't fray. Perfect for Ankara and lining.

3. Paper Scissors (Red handle) - This is for your patterns and cardboard ONLY. Keep it far from your fabric!

4. Rotary Cutter - For straight, fast and accurate cutting. Best for cutting many layers at once.

5. Thread Snips - That small scissors. For cutting thread when you finish sewing. Every tailor needs one in their pocket.

6. Seam Ripper - Your best friend when you make a mistake. It rips stitches without tearing your fabric.

7. Hole Puncher & Pattern Notcher - For marking your pattern. So you know where to join, pleat or dart.

Professional work starts with using the right tool. Which of these do you have and which one do you need?

Follow for more tailoring tools and sewing tips - I post tool daily!

LET'S TALK ABOUT FIXING YOUR NEEDLE CORRECTLY! 👇

Many of us have fought with our machine, only to realize the needle was fixed wrongly 😅

Here is the simple breakdown from the picture:

1. The top part is called the BUTT & SHANK - This is the part that enters your machine. Push it all the way up inside the needle clamp until it can't go further.
2. The flat side goes to the BACK. See where it says "back" in the picture? That flat side must face the back of your machine. This is where 90% of people get it wrong!
3. The GROOVE faces the FRONT - The long line (groove) should face you. That's where your thread will sit.
4. The SCARF - That small cut at the back is what helps your machine catch the thread to form a stitch. If your needle is backwards, it will skip stitches.

If your thread keeps cutting or your machine skips stitches, check your needle first before you call your engineer!
